Our team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Senior Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer to join them. You will report to the Supplier Quality Engineering Manager and will have a hybrid work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

As Moog expands its global supply chain footprint, we are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer to drive supplier development and manufacturing excellence across our electronics supply base. In this highly visible individual contributor role, you will work directly with suppliers and cross-functional teams to develop robust manufacturing processes, reduce technical risk, and ensure the reliable delivery of high-quality electronic components and assemblies.

 

You'll influence products throughout the lifecycle, from new product introduction and supplier onboarding to process optimization and continuous improvement, helping ensure suppliers can meet customer demand while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance.

 

As a Senior Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Support the manufacture of complex electronic components and assemblies within Moog's supply base.

  • Conduct supplier capability assessments and technical risk evaluations.

  • Review supplier manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

  • Partner with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers to understand and communicate design intent.

  • Recommend manufacturing processes, tooling, inspection methods, and process controls that improve quality and manufacturability.

  • Support supplier development initiatives focused on process capability, capacity, quality, and delivery performance.

  • Assist suppliers in resolving manufacturing challenges and implementing corrective actions.

  • Evaluate new product designs, identify manufacturability risks, and communicate recommendations using a data-driven approach.

  • Lead and participate in Design for Excellence (DFX) and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) activities.

  • Review PPAP submissions and supporting documentation for completeness and technical accuracy.

  • Facilitate and participate in PFMEA/FMEA activities with suppliers.

  • Conduct and review Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gage R&R studies, and correlation activities.

  • Analyze process capability data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support Moog's Zero Defect journey through the application of AS9145 principles and advanced quality methodologies.

  • Travel approximately 25% to supplier locations.

 

To be considered for this role, you will typically bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment.

  • Demonstrated experience conducting manufacturing capability assessments.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate across multiple disciplines, organizations, and supplier partners.

 

It’s preferred if you bring:

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing.

  • Electrical Engineering degree and/or electrical engineering experience.

  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), APQP, and PPAP.

  • Experience applying core defect-prevention and process-control methodologies, including: DFMA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, Capability Analysis, and/or Error-Proofing (Poka-Yoke).

  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards including AS13000 series, AS9102, AS9103, and AS9145.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

  • Strong statistical analysis and quantitative problem-solving capabilities.

  • Experience with: Surface Mount Technology (SMT, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing, Surface Mount Devices (SMD, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls, Through-hole and wave soldering processes, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), Functional testing of electronic components and PCBs, and/or Electrical component rework processes.

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and understand circuit functionality.

  • Experience planning, procuring, qualifying, and commissioning electronics manufacturing processes.

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $85,000.00–$145,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
