About the RoleWe are looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Manager to build and own Baselayer’s hiring engine end-to-end.
This is a high-impact, recruiting-first role. Your primary responsibility is to design, execute, and scale our talent acquisition function across technical and non-technical roles. You will partner closely with leadership to define hiring strategy, attract top-tier talent, and consistently close high-quality candidates.
While you may support light people operations or office-related needs, success in this role is measured by hiring outcomes, speed, and talent quality.
You will have meaningful ownership over how Baselayer identifies, engages, and hires exceptional talent as we scale.
What You'll DoTalent & Recruiting (Primary Focus)- Own full-cycle recruiting across technical and non-technical roles, from intake to close
- Partner with hiring managers and leadership to define role scope, success profiles, and hiring strategy
- Proactively source and engage high-quality candidates across multiple channels
- Run structured, high-signal interview processes and drive efficient decision-making
- Manage and optimize pipeline health, conversion rates, and time-to-fill
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience from first touch through onboarding
- Own and implement recruiting infrastructure (e.g., Greenhouse) and improve hiring workflows
- Build repeatable, scalable recruiting processes as the company grows
- Develop sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill and high-priority roles
- Advise leadership on market trends, compensation, and talent availability
- Identify bottlenecks in the hiring process and implement improvements
- Help define and evolve Baselayer’s employer brand
- Support onboarding and employee lifecycle processes as needed
- Serve as a light point of contact for employee questions
- Assist with maintaining a functional and organized NYC office environment
- Coordinate occasional in-office logistics or team events

Required Experience and Skills- 4 to 7 years of experience in full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition
- Proven track record of successfully hiring across multiple functions (technical and/or GTM)
- Strong sourcing capabilities and ability to attract passive candidates
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and hiring managers
- Data-driven approach to managing pipelines and improving hiring outcomes
- Excellent communication, organization, and execution skills
- Experience in a startup or high-growth environment
- NYC-based and able to work in-office 3 days per week
- Strong recruiting instincts and ability to assess talent quickly and accurately
- High ownership mindset—you treat hiring as a business-critical function
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically
- Experience building or scaling recruiting processes and infrastructure
- Comfort influencing hiring decisions and pushing for high standards
Hybrid in our NYC office (3-4 days per week in-office)
Compensation and Benefits- Base salary range of $130,000 to $185,000
