Essential Functions:
- Work with outside advisors on the preparation and review of U.S. federal, state and international related returns for a mix of corporations, LLCs and partnerships.
- Prepare and review indirect tax compliance, including sales and use tax filings.
- Maintain tax calendars, documentation, and supporting workpapers.
- Assist with tax payments and related account reconciliations.
- Prepare U.S. GAAP income tax provisions for domestic corporations and foreign subsidiaries, including analysis of deferred taxes, income tax payable/receivable, total tax expense, and effective tax rate.
- Prepare account reconciliations and assist with tax-related journal entries.
- Gather and organize financial data for tax reporting purposes.
- Assist with maintaining documentation supporting tax positions.
- Help respond to requests from tax authorities and external auditors.
- Support responses to IRS and state tax authorities.
- Conduct basic tax research on federal and state tax issues.
- Monitor tax law updates and summarize findings for the team.
- Identify tax risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Partner with accounting and finance teams to collect required tax information.
- Assist with process improvements and tax department administrative tasks.
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
Necessary Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of corporate tax concepts and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Workday a plus.
- Key competencies include: analytical thinking, attention to detail, time management, team collaboration, professional communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
- CPA preferred but not required.
Experience Requirements:
- 4-6 years of related work experience.
- Experience in a multinational or publicly traded company is preferred.
