We are seeking an experienced Senior US Tax Manager to own and lead the Group’s tax strategy in the US (one of the business’s most significant growth markets). This role is a key strategic position within the global tax team, reporting directly to the Head of Tax, and working closely with the finance, commercial, legal and wider business teams. This role represents a fantastic opportunity to join a fast growing US listed Group, with exposure to a broad range of tax matters.
This role will oversee all US tax matters for the Group - the ideal candidate will have experience in US GAAP reporting, compliance and advisory across all taxes (including Sales Tax), in a US listed environment. What You'll Do:
The successful candidate will have responsibility for all aspects of tax for the US including tax strategies, tax controversy, M&A, business partnering, federal, state and local taxes, sales & use taxes and managing the quarterly global tax provision process. The position requires an expert level expertise in all aspects of corporate US tax law and practice (supported by local finance, the wider tax team and third party tax advisors).
Responsibilities will include:
- Tax Strategy – ownership of the tax strategy in the US to deliver sustainable value in line with the Group’s business and tax strategies
- Business Partnering – partner with the business to develop successful long-term strategic relationships. Being seen as a true value-adding business partner, advising on operations, products, transactions and other new opportunities to achieve shared organizational objectives.
- Tax Reporting – Lead the Group’s quarterly US GAAP tax reporting & forecasting process for the consolidated global tax provision
- US Sales Tax - Oversee US Sales Tax obligations, including compliance management, Nexus analysis and process optimisation.
- Tax Compliance – co-ordination of tax compliance for all US taxes, ensuring we are compliant across all taxes in the US
- Tax Controversy – Manage US federal and state tax authority relationships, audits and enquiries.
- Tax Technical (inc International) – advising on US technical tax matters including BEAT, FDII, GILTI and Subpart F, helping shape the Group’s US tax strategy.
- Tax Processes – Drive improvements in tax processes, including automation and system enhancements to support scale.
- Tax Projects – Support strategic tax projects, including M&A activity and associated due diligence.
What You'll Bring:
- CPA qualified, with a minimum 12 years post‑qualification experience across both a large accountancy firm and an in‑house corporate environment.
- Strong US GAAP reporting experience, including ownership of consolidated global tax provisioning.
- Practical experience across all US taxes, including federal, state and Sales Tax compliance and analysis
- Expert technical understanding of US taxation, with particular focus on BEAT, FDII, GILTI and Subpart F.
- Demonstrated ability to manage federal and state tax authority audits and relationships.
- Ability to operate strategically at a senior level while also being hands‑on when needed.
- Strong communication, presentation and organisational skills, with an ability to translate complex tax topics for non‑tax audiences.
- Self starter who can effectively operate both independently with a minimum level of supervision and within a team
It'll be a bonus if:
- Experience supporting M&A activity.
- Experience implementing or bringing tax provisioning processes in-house, including tax technology solutions
The salary for this role is based on an annualized salary of up to $160,000 to $180,000 per annum depending on relevant experience. This role will also be eligible for an annual bonus and to take part in Genius Sports Group's benefits plan.
