Job Description:
Your Impact:
As a Tech Lead at client, you’ll drive the evolution of a fast-growing commerce platform that powers millions of dollars in transactions and supports thousands of dental practices nationwide. You’ll lead end-to-end product initiatives, owning technical strategy, execution, and measurable business outcomes. You’ll architect systems that fuel our marketplace, streamline operations, and unlock intelligent automation—while guiding a team toward high-impact delivery.
- Drive features and improvements from ideation to delivery, collaborating with Product, Design, and Ops to define scope and success metrics - with ownership across both frontend experience and backend systems
- Own full-stack experiences that feel fast and intuitive to users, aligning backend architecture and frontend execution to deliver measurable impact
- Develop and optimize data pipelines that synchronize product, pricing, and order data across systemsIdentify opportunities through metrics—instrumenting key product/technical KPIs, analyzing trends, and turning insights into roadmap inputs
- Integrate intelligent automation and LLM-based tooling to improve operational efficiency and user experience (e.g. invoice parsing, catalog maintenance, product insights)
- Contribute to frontend development as needed to ensure cohesive end-to-end delivery
- Partner with engineering leadership to define architecture standards, shape technical direction, and mentor engineers on best practices
- You’ll be a key driver of Torch’s next stage of growth—building scalable, intelligent systems that healthcare providers rely on every day, and ensuring we’re solving the right problems with measurable impact.
What we are looking for:
3+ years of experience in a professional engineering environment, with a track record of delivering meaningful product outcomes
Strong experience working across the stack with technologies such as Python, Node.js, or Java, and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React) when needed
Proven ability to own features end-to-end, from problem discovery and scoping to implementation, instrumentation, and iteration
Familiarity with web frameworks such as Flask, Express, Rails, or similarA product mindset - motivated by building impactful user-facing experiences and solving real customer problems
A collaborative, low-ego attitude with a willingness to learn, mentor, and elevate team standards
Ideal candidates will also have:
Experience influencing product roadmaps and helping prioritize features based on impact and feasibility
Experience partnering closely with cross-functional teams - Product, Design, and Ops
Experience shaping frontend patterns, design systems, or full-stack product delivery
Curiosity about how large language models (LLMs) and automation can improve real-world workflows and backend systems
Background in healthcare, logistics, or e-commerce systems
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $160K - $220K

2. Which language do you use most day to-day? Java or Python, and can you describe a project where you built or optimized a secure backend service? (Do not have to get too technical but client wants to know they have projects they can speak about).
3. Have you worked in any regulated environments like healthcare or finance where compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.) was important? (Even if not healthcare, candidates should show structured thinking about compliance and security standards)
