Leads enterprise supply chain architecture and transformation across systems, risk, governance, analytics, and data engineering. Reviews major design decisions, aligns process, technology, data, and operating models, manages integrated roadmaps and dependencies, evaluates interim solutions, establishes prioritization frameworks, tracks value realization, and advises senior stakeholders on trade-offs and target-state alignment. Coordinates with IT and enterprise architecture to ensure supply chain systems meet enterprise standards.
The Technical Lead, Supply Chain Architecture is a senior individual contributor reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy and Transformation. The role provides an independent, enterprise-wide perspective across the organization's three pillars — Systems, Risk and Governance, and Analytics and Data Engineering — ensuring that pillar-level strategies and near-term delivery combine into a coherent, scalable and transformative.
Each pillar owns its respective strategy, roadmap, and execution for its domain. This role does not replace or duplicate that ownership. Instead, it serves as a horizontal architect and strategic thought partner, connecting decisions across pillars, identifying dependencies and conflicts, challenging assumptions, and advising the Senior Director on prioritization, sequencing, and trade-offs across the portfolio.
A core responsibility is to provide an objective design perspective on significant Supply Chain decisions across process, technology, data, and operating model. The role is expected to ask whether proposed solutions address the underlying business problem, fit within the broader target architecture, create sustainable data and process foundations, and avoid unnecessary technical or organizational debt. The successful candidate will bring the ability to move quickly while maintaining architectural discipline — ensuring that today's tactical decisions do not unnecessarily constrain tomorrow's transformation.

Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive supply chain role, ideally at a hyperscaler, cloud provider, or AI infrastructure company.
- Demonstrated experience leading or serving as a principal contributor on at least one end-to-end supply chain transformation, from current-state assessment through system implementation and adoption.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex business problems across process, technology, data, and operating model dimensions and translate them into clear design principles and actionable recommendations.
- Working knowledge of supply chain and procurement systems architecture, including source-to-pay, ERP, supplier management, and planning platforms, and the trade-offs involved in selection, configuration, and integration.
- Practical understanding of data management fundamentals, including master data, data governance, data models, and the requirements of downstream analytics and reporting.
- Familiarity with supply chain risk and governance frameworks, including internal controls, policy design, supplier risk, and compliance requirements, and how these are embedded in systems and workflows.
- Proven ability to build and manage integrated roadmaps across multiple workstreams, including dependency management, sequencing, and cross-functional prioritization.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and align senior stakeholders without direct authority, including facilitating trade-off decisions between peers and presenting recommendations to executive leadership.
- Strong structured problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex, multi-workstream issues into clear options and recommendations.
Other important requirements
- Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the assigned office location on scheduled in-office days under the hybrid work arrangement.
- This role requires willingness to travel domestically and internationally to supplier and vendor sites, data centers, implementation partner locations, and industry events. IREN does not yet have an office in the Bay Area (a Santa Clara office is planned); until it opens, this role will work remotely, transitioning to hybrid on-site work once the office is established.
Job responsibilities
- Serve as a horizontal thought partner and independent design reviewer across the Transformation organization, evaluating major decisions spanning process, technology, data, controls, and operating model.
- Advise on whether proposed solutions address the underlying business need and align with the broader Supply Chain target state, rather than optimizing for an individual pillar or point solution.
- Identify cross-pillar gaps, overlaps, conflicting assumptions, duplicated capabilities, and downstream implications that may not be visible within an individual workstream.
- Help establish and apply lightweight design principles and decision criteria for major Supply Chain transformation initiatives, balancing speed, scalability, integration, cost, and business value.
- Ensure that process design, technology architecture, and data architecture evolve together, with clear consideration of system boundaries, data ownership, master data, controls, and downstream analytics requirements.
- Maintain the integrated transformation roadmap that consolidates the three pillar roadmaps into a single sequenced view, with cross-pillar dependencies, critical-path items, and resourcing conflicts made explicit.
- Build and track the value case: business case for the transformation, benefits realization, and the KPI set you report upward.
- Evaluate requests for interim tools, manual processes, and tactical workarounds needed to support current operations, and assess each against the long-term target state defined by the pillars.
- Recommend which interim solutions to adopt, with explicit criteria for each: the business need it addresses, the expected retirement or migration path, the data and process debt it introduces, and the point at which it will be replaced by the target-state solution.
- Design and operate the prioritization framework and intake process used across the three pillars, including a consistent method for assessing business value, urgency, effort, and risk.
- Advise pillar strategies and major design decisions for consistency with one another, including process definitions, data definitions and ownership, control requirements, and system boundaries. Ensure acceptance testing is an integrated step in the implementation process and coordinated across functions.
- Coordinate with IT and Enterprise Architecture on alignment of supply chain systems decisions with enterprise standards.
