As a Senior UX Designer II, you’ll own the end-to-end experience strategy for a product area, leading discovery and delivery across multiple features or pods. You’ll drive user research, synthesize insights, and define experience goals that align with business outcomes. You’ll mentor other designers, influence cross-functional decisions, and elevate design quality across the organization.
Responsibilities- Define experience strategy and design end-to-end flows across a product area
- Apply accessibility and usability standards and advocate for inclusive design
- Collaborate with PMs and Engineers to shape product direction and prioritize design efforts
- Conduct and lead usability testing, incorporating findings into strategic design iterations
- Mentor designers across pods and contribute to design standards and team rituals
- Design solutions to unfamiliar problems using appropriate UX processes and tools while conforming to established standards and guidelines
- Effectively conceptualize, collaborate, and communicate with customers, stakeholders, and team members to achieve project goals
- Advocate for design and engineering best practices to deliver modern and performant experiences
- Become proficient with the existing feature set for your assigned product, particularly the most common workflows for each customer persona
- Work autonomously and think strategically to identify areas of opportunity within your assigned product
- Contribute to and maintain existing visual and UX patterns in our design system and in our product to ensure a consistent, intuitive experience
- Provide design feedback and mentorship to other designers
- Coordinate the creation of usability studies on a variety of projects and product features
Technical Skills & Competencies
- A portfolio demonstrating user experience skills and strategic impact.
- Proficient in UX processes such as prototypes, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, information architecture, process flows, and user flows.
- Proficient with common UX design and research tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, UserZoom, UserTesting.com, or Maze.
- Clear understanding of current mobile and web technologies; understanding of desktop technologies is a bonus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including concept pitches and storytelling.
- Ability to guide projects from concept to delivery and ongoing improvement.
- Confident in designing reusable UX components or libraries.
- Advocate for planning and executing effective customer research.
- Ability to simplify complex information and find creative solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership in interactive design processes and acting on feedback.
- Eagerness to engage with and understand quantitative and qualitative data at scale.
- Bachelor’s degree, certificate, or equivalent training in user experience design or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in user experience design or a related field, including experience providing design feedback or informal mentorship to other designers
- A portfolio demonstrating strong UX skills and judgment, including examples of end-to-end ownership of complex or ambiguous problems
- Proficient with common UX design and research tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, UserZoom, UserTesting.com, or Maze, and able to evaluate and recommend new tools as the practice evolves
- Deep proficiency in UX processes — prototypes, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, information architecture, process flows, and user flows — with the judgment to choose the right process for the problem
- Independently plans and drives customer research, and can direct research efforts to inform design decisions
- Demonstrated leadership in an interactive design process across cross-functional teams, including synthesizing and acting on feedback from multiple stakeholders
- Confident owning and evolving reusable UX components or design system libraries, including decisions about when to extend versus create new patterns
- Clear understanding of current mobile, web, and desktop technologies
- Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end UX strategy for a product area, working with minimal oversight
- Designs scalable, coherent experiences across products, with an eye toward systems-level consistency
- Builds consensus across stakeholders and drives clarity in ambiguous or contested design decisions
- Frames design decisions in business and user terms, adapting communication for executive and non-design audiences
- A collaborative, self-starter mindset with strong partnership skills and the ability to conceptualize rapidly and creatively
- Ability to simplify complex information and find creative solutions to problems spanning multiple teams or systems
- A willingness to discard or revisit ideas that aren’t working, and to guide others through the same mindset
- Fluency engaging with quantitative and qualitative data at scale, sufficient to independently interpret findings and translate them into design direction
