About Syllo

Syllo is on a mission to transform litigation. Our product is an AI-powered litigation workspace that enables lawyers and paralegals to safely harness the power of language models throughout the litigation life cycle. Since going to market, we have gained a diverse group of enterprise customers, including some of the biggest law firms in the country, and we are quickly expanding. By reducing the expense of litigation industry-wide, we aim to improve access to high-quality representation and promote the alignment of legal outcomes with merit.

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to own key features and initiatives at Syllo. You'll work closely with our Head of Design, Product team, and Engineering team to ship thoughtful and polished experiences.

Requirements

Design skills

You love designing complex products and feel at ease navigating Figma’s features. You also love to be updated and learn the new features launched that can help your team stay ahead with best practices. You can work with complex components and are able to build and manage existing design systems.

  • 5+ years of product design experience
  • Expert-level Figma skills (components, variants, auto-layout, design systems)
  • Strong UX fundamentals: interaction design, information architecture, visual hierarchy, accessibility
  • Portfolio showing end-to-end product work (research to final UI)

How you work

You prioritize organization on a complex and rapidly evolving feature-dense product; you are able to meet deadlines and manage your time wisely across multiple responsibilities in order to help the team get there in time.  You understand the importance of clear communication and maximizing and respecting your team’s time. We believe in fewer meetings, more context.

  • Own features independently from concept through developer handoff
  • Communicate early and often—share work-in-progress, flag risks, ask questions
  • Openness to giving and receiving feedback
  • Quick iteration based on feedback, constraints, and shifting priorities
  • Understand the business and technical implications of your design decisions

Startup fit

You are quick to adapt to new ways of doing things and don’t get too attached to the same processes. You believe in team-work is key to moving fast, and accountability in helping engineers make sense of your designs is key. You can understand and download requirements in fast turn-around times. You feel comfortable working in an ever-evolving system.

  • Comfortable with evolving processes and ambiguity
  • Not a perfectionist: understands that a shipped product is better than an unshipped, “perfect” product
  • Eager to learn and help raise the design quality bar
  • Attention to detail, capable of QAing features before they ship, and communicating issues with the team

Bonus

  • Experience with design systems
  • General understanding of the front-end web stack (HTML/CSS, optionally JS) is a big plus
  • Background in complex or data-heavy products
  • Fast-moving product team experience
  • Basic knowledge of platforms for product versioning, like Git
