We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice president, Full-Stack Engineer to join our Collateral Engineering team. This role is located in NYC, USA

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Provide superior software development services in a fast-paced and innovative working environment. 
  • Work with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements.
  • Analyze information and provide recommendations to address and resolve business and technical issues. Actively participate in team discussions, provide guidance and expert opinion on the subject matter. 
  • Perform coding, unit testing, implementation and documentation of solutions. 
  • Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved. 
  • Comply with BNY’s standard development methodology 

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 10 plus years of hands-on software development experience, with strong proficiency in server-side development using Java 8 or higher.
  • 5 plus years of experience in software development required – proficiency in Angular and Front-End UI Technologies
  • Experience in Spring Framework and proficiency with Spring Boot.
  • Solid coding and troubleshooting experience on Web Services and RESTful API.
  • Strong experience in messaging (IBM MQ preferred).
  • Strong SQL skills to work on Relational databases.
  • Experience of working in UI tools & programming languages – Core JavaScript, Angular 16 or higher, TypeScript, JavaScript frameworks, CSS, HTML.
  • Experience with Automation Testing Frameworks (e.g. Playwright/Cucumber)
  • Experience with AI development tools (e.g. Copilot/Windsurf)
  • Strong experience in SDLC, DevOps processes – CI/CD tools, Git, etc.
  • Good understanding of monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Moogsoft.
  • Knowledge of Scrum and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn and pick up new skills and to perform with minimal management supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge in data warehousing / data lakes / pipelines is a plus.  
  • Knowledge in cloud technologies is preferred.
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a big plus.
  • Experience with AI/LLM-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor) is a strong plus — candidates who leverage AI engines to accelerate code delivery, improve test coverage, and enhance code quality are highly preferred.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $102,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. 
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
