We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Product Manager to join our Digital Assets team. This role is located in New York, NY. 

Job Overview: We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead initiatives for BNY’s digital asset business. The candidate will take end-to-end-ownership of bringing new products and services to market by defining product strategy, leading design, project planning and execution efforts. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of financial market structure, blockchain-based technology, traditional financial services and delivering product in under an agile framework. 

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

Strategy: 

  • Help define the near and long-term product strategy, through deep industry engagement, market analysis and understanding emerging trends 

  • Ensure product alignment with BNY’s mission and principles 

  • Help shape industry best practices  

Product Design:  

  • Translate client needs into commercial product solutions 

  • Craft product roadmap to ensure incremental and prompt product delivery 

Commercial Analysis 

  • Understand the regulatory environment and product feasibility 

  • Define target client segment and go-to-market strategy 

  • Conduct competitive market research and analysis 

Collaboration  

  • Engage with cross-functional subject matter experts 

  • Communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels 

  • Adhere to product governance framework 

Performance Metrics: 

  • Establish support model across the product lifecycle 

  • Track product performance across operational, technical and commercial indicators 

  • Collect client and internal feedback for continuous product improvement 

Demonstrated Skills, Experiences: 

Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and the digital asset landscape.  Experience blockchain and traditional settlement. 

Curiosity: Demonstrated curiosity for all things blockchain 

Self-motivated: Proactively identifies new opportunities or challenges; takes ownership of outcomes 

Collaborative: Strong leadership capabilities with experience working within complex, matrixed organizations to deliver on goals 

Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics to drive decision-making 

Customer Focus: Obsessed about delivering value to clients, understanding client pain points and identifying new opportunities.  


To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 
  • 7-10 years relevant industry experience in digital assets, trading, custody or financial services product management. 
  • Must exhibit flexibility and be able to quickly adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment where new challenges arise and priorities shift. 
  • Must be detailed oriented, with experience writing functional and non-functional business requirements and/or user stories. 
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $104,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. 
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
