About OpenAP

Founded and owned by the largest television networks in the U.S., OpenAP is a collective of innovators fundamentally changing how advertising is bought and sold across the premium video ecosystem. Together with our partners, we are powering a more sustainable model for ad-supported television by:

  • Connecting publishers and platforms to enable holistic, cross-screen targeting and measurement
  • Connecting advertisers with the precise audiences they want to reach
  • Connecting people with relevant brand messages that enhance the viewing experience
 About the Role

The S/VP Publisher Solutions is a senior commercial and operational leader within OpenAP’s revenue organization. This role is responsible for driving adoption, utilization, and revenue growth of OpenAP’s audience-based video solutions across the supply-side ecosystem.

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution and operations. The successful candidate will operate independently in market, manage senior publisher relationships, build and present strategic materials, and translate complex technical and commercial concepts into clear, actionable plans that drive monetization and scale.

This is a highly visible role that requires intellectual rigor, strong judgment, and comfort operating at the intersection of traditional television, streaming, data, and advertising technology. The ideal candidate is a strategic operator — someone who thinks holistically, executes autonomously, and partners closely with internal stakeholders to move initiatives from concept through delivery.

 Key Responsibilities

Publisher Revenue & Growth

  • Maintain and grow year-over-year revenue across key publisher partners
  • Drive utilization and adoption of OpenAP’s technology solutions and services
  • Expand and cultivate OpenAP’s premium video inventory footprint beyond existing suppliers to include local, addressable, distributor, OEM, and streaming inventory
  • Accelerate the growth and scale of convergent, cross-screen, audience-based video campaigns
  • Forecast, track, and communicate publisher revenue performance, risks, and growth opportunities

Executive Publisher Relationship Management

  • Develop, nurture, and manage trusted relationships with senior-level executives and day-to-day stakeholders across publisher ad sales, operations, product, and technology teams
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for publisher revenue and strategic initiatives
  • Lead standing meetings and strategic working sessions with publisher partners
  • Demonstrate consultative expertise by aligning OpenAP capabilities to publisher business models, KPIs, and monetization goals
  • Represent OpenAP professionally and confidently in market with senior stakeholders

Strategic Planning, Communication & Storytelling

  • Create publisher strategic account plans and maintain stakeholder mapping documentation
  • Own preparation and in-person presentation of business reviews
  • Build and present clear, compelling strategic materials that translate data, performance, and product capabilities into actionable insights
  • Develop and manage a publisher communication program, including best practices for product updates, operational guidance, and critical announcements
  • Apply insights from customer success stories and prior case work to inform strategy and build confidence among existing and prospective partners

Publisher Engagement Model & Operations

  • Build and scale publisher-facing functions, including enablement collateral such as core services presentations, workflows, FAQs, and technical documentation
  • Oversee publisher engagement to reliably deliver OpenAP platform services for campaign-level activation, usage, and invoicing
  • Establish and lead OpenAP’s annual publisher strategy and technology roadmap planning sessions
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, clarity, and consistency across publisher workflows

Product & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a key internal advocate and champion for publisher requirements, feedback, and process improvement
  • Partner closely with Product, Solutions Engineering, Operations, Audience Solutions, and Support teams to identify solutions and address supplier customer needs
  • Work hand-in-hand with Business Development and Partnerships to ensure alignment between third-party data, clean room, measurement, identity, currency, and ad-tech partnerships and publisher needs
  • Consultatively position new product offerings that add value or solve pain points for supplier customers; manage multi-stream projects, tracking status and revenue
  • Share actionable market feedback and package it into clear recommendations and project plans

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Manage Director-level Platform Operations and additional publisher relationship managers as the team scales
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across Product, Client Services, Marketing, Sales, and the Senior Leadership Team on publisher-facing initiatives
  • Help define and refine internal swim lanes, operating norms, and ownership models
  • Develop scalable processes and a consistent publisher partner management program

Qualifications & Experience

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in senior, supply-side relationship management within advanced advertising, including advanced TV, streaming, data-driven video, addressable advertising, or platform-based solutions
  • Preexisting knowledge of identity frameworks, audience resolution, and the role of identity in enabling audience-based planning, activation, and measurement across advanced TV and streaming ecosystems is preferred
  • Experience with advertising research, attribution, and campaign effectiveness insights across multiple methodologies is helpful
  • Proven ability to operate independently and effectively in front of senior external stakeholders
  • Strong consultative partner management skills with a track record of driving revenue growth and adoption
  • Experience forecasting and managing publisher revenue
  • Comfort balancing existing customer revenue with onboarding and scaling new supply partners
  • Ability to clearly articulate value propositions and present confidently in new-business and strategic settings
  • Deep understanding of data-driven advertising, advanced television, connected TV, targeting, measurement, attribution, and campaign effectiveness
  • Strong process orientation with the ability to build structure and discipline in dynamic environments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity and building from the ground up
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, with experience building strategic decks, roadmaps, and financial models with the ability to resourcefully leverage modern AI-enabled tools to accelerate analysis, visualization, workflow efficiency, and output quality

Who Thrives in This Role

This role is well-suited for senior leaders who enjoy combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution, who are energized by complex ecosystems, and who take pride in building trusted relationships and scalable operating models. It is not a passive account management role — success requires judgment, initiative, and the ability to lead without constant direction.
