Who are we and why should you join us?

BetterHelp is on a mission to remove the traditional barriers to therapy and make mental health care more accessible to everyone. Founded in 2013, we are now the world’s largest online therapy service, providing affordable and convenient therapy across the globe. Our network of over 30,000 licensed therapists has helped millions of people take ownership of their mental health and change their lives forever. And we’re not stopping there – as the unmet need for mental health services continues to grow, BetterHelp is committed to being part of the solution.

As the Social & Influencer Marketing Intern at BetterHelp, you’ll join a diverse team of licensed clinicians, engineers, product pros, creatives, marketers, and business leaders who share a passion for expanding access to therapy. And as a mental health company, we take employee mental health just as seriously as we do our mission. We deeply invest in our team’s well-being and professional development, because we know that business and individual growth go hand-in-hand. At BetterHelp, you’ll carve your own path, make an immediate impact, and be challenged every day – with a supportive community behind you the whole way.

What are we looking for?

BetterHelp is seeking a Social & Influencer Marketing Intern to join our team this summer. We’re looking for someone who is brand-curious, culturally aware, and serious about building a career in marketing.

You’re genuinely interested in how brands show up online, from influencer partnerships to social content strategy, and you’re eager to learn how thoughtful, data-informed campaigns come together behind the scenes. You’re organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership in your work.

Most importantly, you care about mental health and want to contribute to work that makes a meaningful impact.

What will you do?
  • Support influencer and social campaigns across research, brainstorms, creator sourcing, coordination, and execution.
  • Conduct competitive and cultural research to inform campaign and content strategy.
  • Identify creators and trends that align with our brand voice, values, and audience.
  • Draft briefs, research summaries, outreach emails, and presentation materials.
  • Maintain organization across contracts, JIRA tickets, and shared drives.
  • Submit JIRA tickets and support cross functional workflows with Creative, Legal, Compliance, and Growth.
  • Design templates to support organic content creation, including materials for our therapist ambassador program.
  • Track social media trends and synthesize insights to inform future ideas.
  • Lead a structured summer project tied to a strategic brand opportunity and present actionable recommendations to cross functional stakeholders.
What will you NOT do?
  • You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
  • You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
  • You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
  • You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.
Can I work remotely?

Yes. We operate on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply.

Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program with a target graduation date in 2027 preferred. Recent graduates will also be considered.
  • Available full time, 40 hours per week during the program duration.
  • Strong understanding of digital culture and social platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Google Slides, Docs, and Sheets.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
  • Genuine interest in influencer marketing, brand strategy, and mental health.

Bonus (Great to have, but not required)

  • Experience running a personal, campus, or brand social account.
  • Basic design skills in Canva, Figma, or Adobe.
  • Experience sourcing or evaluating creators for brand fit.
  • Exposure to influencer platforms or creator discovery tools.
  • Experience using AI tools for research, brainstorming, or drafting.
Benefits
  • The chance to build something that changes lives – and that people love
  • An awesome community of co-workers
  • Meaningful projects: Apply your education to real-world challenges through hands-on, impactful work that is both rigorous and rewarding.
  • Growth & development: Expand your skills through mentoring, job shadowing, lunch & learns, and hands-on project work that supports your personal and professional growth.
  • Dedicated support: Benefit from a manager and mentor who will provide ongoing guidance and support throughout your internship.
