Our mission at Duolingo is to develop the best education in the world and make it universally available. It’s a big mission, and even though we've made a lot of headway, we still have work to do — and that’s where you come in!

Duolingo’s designers care about creating high-quality experiences that look and feel fun. From animators to writers, product designers to researchers, Design brings purpose, feeling, and delight to every interaction with our brand, inside the app and out. As a designer, you’ll join a culture of creativity and craft, where we have a high bar for excellence and an endless curiosity about how to bring more unexpected quirk and fun to the pursuit of learning.

Join us in our mission to develop education for our half a billion (and growing!) learners around the world.

About the role
We are seeking a Social Community Manager to help engage with Duolingo’s social media community. With a large presence on YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels, we need someone who can speak the internet language of our learners. As a core member of our growing marketing team, you are someone who lives on the For You Page and loves crafting community content that engages, entertains, and encourages. More than that, you love to find opportunities to connect with our users and inspire UGC.
The ideal candidate is highly creative and self-motivated, has excellent communication skills, and collaborates well with others.

  You will...
  • Own the Duolingo tone in the comments section and community manage social posts on our global Duolingo channels
  • Work alongside our social team to create viral community management moments in our own comment section and on our channels
  • Inspire UGC moments through community content on our channels
  • Embody "learners first" by cultivating relationships with our most passionate community members and empowering them to become brand ambassadors
  • Work closely with the merch team to surprise and delight our most engaged fans
  • Evolve our short-form video community strategy through experiments and iterate on the ones that work
  • Track metrics alongside our Analytics team related to community engagement, sentiment, and growth, and provide regular reports and insights to inform content strategy and vision.

  You have...
  • 2-3 years social media experience at major brand or organization
  • Wit! You’re known as the clever one in your group chat that always has the best comebacks.
  • At your core, you’re a content creator, but engaging fans and community is your passion.
  • In-tune with social trends, even before they hit; ability to respond ASAP to trends/memes to capitalize on those opportunities
  • Solid interpersonal skills and passion for engaging with our social media communities

  Exceptional candidates will have...
  • Are proficient in multiple languages
  • Can dance in a mascot suit
