FloSports is creating the home for college conferences/leagues and sports like grappling, hockey, track & field, racing, cheer, wrestling, and more, and we are looking for innovative and passionate people like you to help us!
THE ROLE:
FloCollege is the authentic home for small school college athletics, delivering live events, highlights, and storytelling that helps grow our sports every day. As we continue to expand our live-event social coverage, we are seeking a Social Media Contractor focused on real-time content creation during live events, including nights, weekends, and multi-team championship-style events.
This role is ideal for a fast, creative social media professional who thrives in live environments, understands how to capture moments as they happen, and knows how to turn live competition into engaging, platform-native content that drives growth and monetization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute real-time social media coverage for live events, with a strong emphasis on night and weekend competitions
Lead social coverage for multi-team and championship-style events, including pre-event buildup, live posting, and post-event recaps
Create engaging, platform-native content for Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and YouTube (posts, clips, stories, reels, shorts, etc.)
Collaborate with FloCollege’s editorial and video teams to align live coverage with broader content and programming strategies
Optimize live and editorial content for each platform to maximize engagement, reach, and traffic
Drive social executions that support organic monetization goals, including subscriptions, event awareness, and audience growth
Edit and publish short-form video content quickly and efficiently during live events
Monitor and engage with the FloCollege community in real time through comments, messages, and mentions
Track and analyze performance metrics to inform content decisions and improve future live coverage
Build and maintain relationships with athletes, teams, and influencers within the FloCollege ecosystem
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proven experience as a social media manager or contractor, preferably in sports or live-event environments
Strong understanding of social platforms, algorithms, and best practices—especially for live and short-form content
Ability to work nights, weekends, and extended event days as required by the live sports calendar
Excellent writing skills with a strong feel for voice, tone, and storytelling
Demonstrated ability to quickly edit and optimize video for social platforms
Strong analytical skills with experience using performance data to guide content strategy
Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently during live events
Knowledge of college softball, baseball, basketball, football, and other NCAA sports is strongly preferred
