Extend is building the unified end-to-end document processing platform for developers shipping AI applications. We're on a mission to transform how the world works with unstructured data.

As the Growth & Community lead, your goal is to help more developers hear about and interact with Extend where they naturally congregate online. You'll own how we show up across X, LinkedIn, and anywhere else our users like to hang out, run our company channels end-to-end, own the strategy and cadence behind activating our executive team, conduct social listening, and build out our community of evangelists.

We are lucky to have built a base of power users, engaged partners, and strong relationships within the startup ecosystem. You will own the critical task of building and activating our broader community while exploring opportunities for collaboration with users, customers, and creators.

If you understand the power of social as a distribution engine, are fluent in X culture, have a sense of humor and equally strong opinions on what good developer community building looks like, then this role is for you.

Why you should consider joining
  • We've grown revenue 4x last year to several million ARR, with growth continuing to accelerate

  • We have a product loved by users and being used in mission-critical flows at enterprises (Square, Zillow, Chime) and startups (Brex, Mercury, Checkr), and many more

  • The market for document processing has expanded 1000x due to LLMs, and all existing solutions are low NPS

  • We're punching well above our weight, supporting customer and revenue metrics with half the team size of other startups — everyone joining at this stage will have outsized impact

  • We've raised our series A & de-risked the business, but there's tremendous upside ahead; now's the perfect time to join.

  • You'll be joining a talent dense team operating in a high performance culture, in-person in NYC, with high equity ownership

  • You'll get a front row seat to how a successful startup is built with plenty of leadership opportunities as we grow this rocket ship

Impact & Role

Distribution is one of the highest-leverage opportunities we have. Our product wins bake-offs, but the category is loud and the companies that consistently capture developer mindshare on social will be the ones pulling away. You'll be the person who makes sure Extend is at the forefront, and over time, you'll shape how we think about content strategy and community as a whole.

You'll have complete ownership over the work you do. As an early team member, you'll truly own a large surface area and work directly with the CEO and other founding members in a high trust, high autonomy environment.

Here's a few of the things you'll be working on:

  • Own Extend's company social presence on X and LinkedIn end-to-end. From strategy, cadence, voice, content, social listening, engagement, and reporting

  • Building a content distribution engine that compounds. Every blog post, customer story, launch, and technical write-up gets the distribution it deserves across both company and executive accounts optimized for its distribution channel

  • Own the process, strategy, and cadence of our executive content program. Build the engine that turns their meetings, learnings, and opinions into posts, and ship at a high cadence. Make our team fun, authentic, and trusted voices in the B2B AI and document processing conversation

  • Designing and running social-first campaigns around launches, customer wins, and product moments in tight coordination with marketing, product, and engineering

  • Establishing the metrics that matter (followers, qualified engagement, inbound, pipeline-influenced) and building a feedback loop so we double down on what compounds

  • Building community across channels and forums, online and IRL

  • Experimenting across formats (long-form threads, memes, video, carousels, Thought Leader Ads, podcast clips) and treating the work like a portfolio of bets

  • Explore collaborations with the creator network

  • Eventually hire and manage contractors (video editors, designers, ghostwriters) and own the social budget as the team grows.

About you
  • Strong writing and speaking skills, with the ability to explain technical ideas simply — you can take something dense (LLMs, document processing, evals, agents) and turn it into a post a non-technical operator and a senior engineer will both want to read

  • You live where developer and tech culture is shaped on the internet. X, GitHub, Discord, Hacker News, open source circles, hackathons, meetups, and YC-adjacent builder groups. You know the accounts, the memes, the in-jokes, the unwritten rules, and the difference between content that resonates and content that gets ignored

  • Direct experience scaling social media and ghostwriting, with examples you can show us, and a portfolio of accounts you've built or grown on X and/or LinkedIn with numbers attached

  • While you don’t need to be a professionally developer by trade, we would love to see small apps, tools, or side projects you built

  • Bonus: experience and interest in producing video content (short-form, podcast clips, founder-led video)

Benefits

Beyond the below, we care deeply about each of our candidates on a personal level. We take the time to understand your needs to craft a package designed for you:

  • Insurance - 90% health insurance premium coverage

  • Relocation - for candidates based outside of NYC

  • Unlimited PTO policy - we trust everyone like owners, take what you need

  • Daily lunch & snacks covered (plus dinner if you're in the office late)

  • Unlimited token / tooling access - no handicaps on your productivity

  • Learning and development investment - we invest heavily in our team and support your growth
