The Social Media Producer will create and distribute engaging short-form video content for women's sports podcasts, optimize for platforms, and analyze performance metrics.
The summary above was generated by AI

The Vox Media Podcast Network is seeking an experienced Social Media Producer to lead the creation and distribution of social content for “A Touch More” and “Bird’s Eye View,” two flagship women’s sports and lifestyle podcasts. You will develop an overarching strategy for short and mid-form video clips across social media platforms, and will work closely with podcast producers, hosts, editors, and the podcast marketing team to reflect each show’s distinct audience and aesthetic.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Producer will be responsible for the execution of critical daily and weekly production tasks, including:

  • Develop, script, and produce engaging social content for each show in a variety of formats (both episode clips and original socially native content), determining optimal frequency and cadence for every platform
  • Collaborate with show producers and hosts to identify compelling moments in episodes that translate into short-form social pieces; craft a sharp storytelling arc for each clip through line edits, pacing, and added graphics.
  • Optimize content for platform performance (length, format, captioning, hashtags, thumbnails, CTAs) and stay current with algorithm changes and emerging formats.
  • Track performance metrics (views, reach, engagement, follower growth, click-throughs to episode/subscribe) and feed insights back into creative strategy
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Proven experience creating short-form video content (15 sec-3 min) for podcasts or media brands on social platforms.
  • Excellent storytelling instincts; knowing which moments to spotlight that hook viewers, evoke emotion or insight, and prompt engagement or action.
  • Strong understanding of social platforms and their nuances: Instagram (feed, stories, reels), TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn. You stay up-to-date on trends, emerging formats, algorithm behaviour.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt creative approach/tone to different show audiences and brand personalities (for example, a tech-business show vs. a culture-comedy show).
  • Proficiency in static image design (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva) and video editing apps (CapCut); experience with Premiere a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/shows simultaneously, prioritize under tight deadlines, collaborate across teams.
  • Data-literate: you can interpret performance metrics and iterate accordingly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A portfolio or reel of past work completed as an end-to-end producer, showcasing short-form video and social campaign results.
  • Experience working in podcast media or editorial-driven media brands
  • Strong familiarity with collegiate and professional women’s sports leagues (especially WNBA and NWSL) and the big storylines around the intersection of sports and culture – specific fandoms appreciated but not required
  • Familiarity with audio editing or podcast production workflows a plus

If you think you have what it takes, but don't meet every single point in our job posting, please apply with a cover letter to let us know how you believe you can bring your unique skills to the Vox Media team or get in touch! We would love to have a chat and see if you could be a great addition to our team. We’ve hired chefs who became editors, DJs who became UX designers, and sommeliers who became writers.
