About Bridgewater

Bridgewater Associates is a premier asset management firm, focused on delivering unique insight and partnership for the most sophisticated global institutional investors.

Our investment process is driven by a tireless pursuit to understand how the world’s markets and economies work — using cutting-edge technology to validate and execute on timeless and universal investment principles.

Founded in 1975, we are a community of independent thinkers who share a commitment for excellence. By fostering a culture of openness, transparency, and inclusion, we strive to unlock the most complex questions in investment strategy, management, and corporate culture.

Our Culture

Our culture is anchored in excellence, meaning constant improvement, and it is deeply tied to our mission. Because markets are objective, competitive, and getting smarter everyday, we need to keep rapidly improving to have any chance of beating them. Truth is our most essential tool for engaging with the markets and constantly improving because once you know what's true about your problems and opportunities, you can determine how to get better. Valuing truth means being transparent about your decision-making and mistakes, giving and receiving feedback with humility, and fighting for the best answers over hierarchy, ego, or self-interest. Operating this way is hard – it's only possible because we build meaning in our work and relationships. This meaning comes from the audacity of the mission, and the joy of working alongside people who make you a better version of yourself. The culture, like Bridgewater itself, is always evolving. In 1997 our founder Ray Dalio wrote down his lessons, starting with a Philosophy Statement which remains our foundation. This later evolved into a set of 300+ Principles. In 2022, when Ray transitioned the company, we re-underwrote several of those principles and evolved others, with a specific focus on Meritocracy. Today the culture sits, alongside our people, as our most important edge. When we get it right, it’s the engine that powers everything else.

About the Role

We are seeking a Social-First Video Editor / Producer to help shape how Bridgewater shows up across modern platforms. This role sits at the intersection of content, storytelling, and distribution — responsible for creating high-performing, platform-native video that captures attention, drives engagement, and builds brand relevance.

This individual is both a maker and operator: someone who can concept quickly, shoot when needed using lightweight setups (iPhone / small rigs), and execute fast-turn edits (same or next day) without sacrificing quality.

They bring a deep understanding of what makes content perform in-feed — from hooks and pacing to subtitles, formatting, and platform-specific nuances — and are fluent in translating ideas into compelling short-form video.

This role partners closely with Brand, Communications, and Content teams to bring ideas to life in ways that are timely, culturally relevant, and optimized for distribution.

You will be a click for the role if you:

  • Are obsessed with social-first storytelling and understand how content competes for attention in-feed
  • Have a strong instinct for hooks, pacing, retention curves, and viewer behavior
  • Can independently shoot high-quality video using lightweight, agile setups (iPhone, mirrorless, small rigs)
  • Execute fast-turn edits (same-day / next-day) while maintaining a high creative bar
  • Are fluent in platform optimization (aspect ratios, captions, thumbnails, trends, specs across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube, etc.)
  • Use subtitles, graphics, and motion intentionally to increase accessibility and engagement
  • Are highly iterative — comfortable testing, learning, and refining content based on performance
  • Balance creative instinct with performance data, continuously improving output
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines
  • Are a strong collaborator who can translate abstract ideas into tangible, high-quality content

You will drive the following responsibilities:

  • Edit and produce short-form video content optimized for social platforms, with a focus on engagement and retention
  • Execute rapid-turnaround edits, delivering content on same-day or next-day timelines when needed
  • Shoot video content using lightweight production setups for interviews, behind-the-scenes, and reactive content
  • Apply best practices in hooks, pacing, structure, and storytelling to maximize in-feed performance
  • Add and optimize subtitles, graphics, and motion elements to enhance clarity and accessibility
  • Adapt content for platform-specific formats and requirements (vertical, square, horizontal, length constraints, etc.)
  • Collaborate with content and strategy teams to translate ideas into social-first executions
  • Continuously test and iterate on formats, styles, and approaches based on performance data
  • Stay current on platform trends, editing styles, and emerging formats, bringing new ideas forward
  • Ensure all content aligns with Bridgewater’s brand standards, tone, and external narrative

Physical Requirements

The anticipated onsite requirement for this role is four days per week at our New York City campus.

Wage Range

The wage range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 70% - 80% of this wage range.
