Job DescriptionAre you a digital storyteller with a passion for spreading big ideas around the world? TED is looking for a social video editor/producer to join our team. Based at TED’s NYC office, this role is responsible for producing video assets across all of TED’s social media platforms. The ideal candidate is an eager and active participant in ideating fresh content opportunities for TED audiences, exploring new and emerging formats, and brings a keen eye for design and the latest trends in online storytelling.
Primary Responsibilities:
Producing social media content, focused primarily on short, snackable video content;
Creating scripts for video assets, including content from the TED archive and TED Audio Collective;
Post-production and editing of TED Talks and other original social-first content (including graphical, animated and other dynamic storytelling techniques);
Partnering cross-functionally with internal team members and stakeholders to edit, refine, and optimize content specifically for social media;
Navigating creative approval process for ongoing projects and maintaining awareness of any potential flags around rights and clearances;
Maintaining TED social media asset library including file structures, content migration to TED O&O, and other duties, as assigned
Providing support for TED’s virtual social livestream efforts including sponsored LinkedIn Lives and TED Talks Watch Parties;
Assisting with filming original social content at TED events and TED HQ;
Required Skills:
3-5 years of experience creating digital content for social media, with a specialty in short-form vertical video;
Bachelor’s Degree in film/video production, communications, or equivalent experience;
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere and video editing workflows;
Ability to work within production timeline workflows using a production management system such as Airtable;
Advanced knowledge of graphic design and comfort using Canva, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator;
Excellent creative skills and a great eye for detail;
Knowledge of video optimization for social media platforms including short-form video such as TikTok;
Social copywriting skills and an ability to contribute to headlines and other copy needs for social video and graphics;
Desired:
Experience working with Adobe After Effects or other motion graphic software program;
Virtual events and social media production experience;
Familiarity with social media analytics and data-inspired content creation;
Interest in exploring new mediums and formats;
Hourly Rate: $35.00 - $39.00
Time commitment: 35 hours/week (Max).
