Our Impact:
Our infrastructure engineering organization keeps Freddie Mac running on a solid foundation day in day out. We support all of Freddie Mac's data center footprints, and we lead the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all Freddie Mac's on-premises private cloud infrastructure for compute and storage and select AWS infrastructure.
Your Impact:
Contribute to a fast-paced customer-centric environment that requires excellent technical and interpersonal skills. Build new features and services using AWS and hybrid cloud technologies. Design, build, and implement distributed systems and work on cloud infrastructure services design.
Methodological leader who can serve and be an example to others, delivering immediate results to customers on big creative infrastructure challenges while being an ambassador for bold ideas from everywhere and empowering others to own them to completion. Mentor and assess engineering colleagues' talent to help impact technology innovations to reduce customer difficulties and improve operations with a hawkish focus on lowering costs.
Qualifications
-
8+ years DevOps experience developing innovative and practical AWS cloud application with Python through full software creation process.
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field; advanced studies/degree preferred
-
4+ years technical engineering experience with more than one of the following coding languages: Python (highly preferred), Java, Go, Rust, Kotlin, C
-
4+ years of professional (non-intern) experience building enterprise-grade solutions in AWS Cloud Infrastructure
-
Proven experience in infrastructure as code (like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform), CICD, & build automation (like Jenkins or AWS pipelines).
-
Experience in building highly available distributed systems at scale using IaC (Infrastructure as Code).
-
5+ years of experience with Linux bash shell script and open to using power shell on Microsoft systems
-
Comfortable with Git repositories, and organisational change
-
3+ year of experience with Agile DevOps such that scrum or kanban
-
4+ years of experience delivering well received design and architecture documents.

Experience optimally working across fields, groups, and teams to ethically assure outcomes and alignment
-
Comfortable working in, elevating, and adapting to a high stake environments and leadership
-
History of collaboration to generate a phenomenal outcome for everyone

Outstanding writing and communications skills

Released a RESTful APIs and GraphQL
-
AWS services like Lambda, STS, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, CloudTrail, Cloud Formation, and CloudWatch, & X-ray
-
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and related services with proficiency in Ansible
-
Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time
Keys to Success

A strong background in risk management with a willingness to get regulatory compliance activities complete and correct every-time

Experience with cybersecurity with familiarity with application security including AWS security best practices and AWS security services to protect sensitive data and systems

Getting security right through encryption, secure credential/key management, and slinging authorization policy is a mole hill and not a mountain for you

Experience with Microsoft enterprise solutions or VMWare

Experience with hybrid cloud DevOps

Experience with GitHub + Open AI coding environments

Experience in AI, machine learning, or data science such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Jupyter notebooks, pandas, RHEL AI, & Red Hat InstructLab

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $138,000 - $206,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
