About Nominal

Nominal is building the connected test and operations platform powering the world's most advanced hardware systems, from spacecraft and autonomous vehicles to next-generation defense programs. Our platform gives hardware engineering teams a single place to ingest data, analyze performance, automate test execution, and collaborate across every phase of development, so they can move faster without sacrificing safety or precision. We're a fast-moving team that owns problems end-to-end, works across disciplines, and thrives at the intersection of hardware and software.

We serve top-tier commercial and defense customers, from autonomy leaders like Anduril and Shield AI to next-generation aerospace teams like Hermeus and REGENT, and performance engineering teams like Pratt Miller Motorsports, alongside mission partners within the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force on programs where failure isn’t an option. We’re backed by Sequoia, General Catalyst, Founders Fund, Lux Capital, and Lightspeed. Our team draws from SpaceX, Palantir, Anduril, Applied Intuition, and other leading companies, united by a common mission: giving hardware engineers the tools to build the future with speed, safety, and confidence.

Join Nominal as a Frontend Engineer and build polished, high-performance web interfaces that empower engineers to interact with complex data seamlessly. You’ll use React and TypeScript to develop scalable, user-centric features, collaborating closely with backend, design, and product teams to deliver intuitive, fast, and visually compelling experiences. • Build Scalable Systems: Contribute to scalable architecture, particularly when working with APIs and managing large data volumes to optimize the user experience.
  • Prioritize Performance and UX: Create high-performance, visually appealing frontend solutions that handle complex data sets efficiently. Ensure the product is fast, smooth, and intuitive to use, even under heavy load.

  • Strong knowledge of modern frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • A passion for crafting beautiful, user-centric interfaces and a keen eye for design details.
  • Experience working on products for technical users, such as dashboards, time-series visualization tools, or complex data-editing environments.
  • A collaborative mindset and a desire to contribute to the product roadmap by offering insights and feedback.

  • Styling & UI Libraries: Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or similar utility-first CSS frameworks, and Radix UI for building reusable UI components.
  • API Integration: Experience with APIs (RESTful, GraphQL, or tRPC) and integrating them into frontend applications seamlessly.
  • Performance Optimization: Knowledge of performance-focused tools and techniques for rendering large datasets and building responsive, smooth interfaces.
  • WebGL/Graphics: Experience with or interest in WebGL and working on data visualization projects is a plus.
