We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team responsible for building and maintaining our next-generation data pipelines and ETL infrastructure. Using a variety of technologies to deliver performant solutions, this team will play a significant role in FactSet's Digital Transformation by empowering our sophisticated user base that includes quantitative analysts, data scientists, and application developers. 

As a Software Engineer on our team, you will design, develop, and maintain highly scalable data pipelines that are robust, efficient, and reliable. You will actively participate in our Agile/Scrum development process, contributing to regular sprint planning, daily standups, and iterative reviews to ensure continuous progress and improvement. Collaborating closely with stakeholders—including product managers, business analysts, and end users—you will help develop clear specifications and innovative features that directly address client needs and drive product excellence. 

The ideal candidate shares our passion for data engineering, has experience with distributed applications, and possesses excellent communication and collaboration skills. Joining our team means becoming a key contributor to our ongoing effort to build out our data infrastructure and deliver solutions that transform the way our clients interact with data. 

 

 

What We're Looking For 

Education 

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) 

Required Skills 

  • Experience programming with Python and SQL 

  • Desire to both design and implement reliable and superior software. 

 

Desired Skills 

 

  • Experience with data processing and ETL pipelines 

  • Experience with Python and SQL for data transformation 

  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, or similar) 

  • Experience working with Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) 

  • Familiarity with data warehousing platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, or similar) 

  • Linux programming environment 

  • Working with and managing a large code base 

  • Programming in a distributed environment (Spark, parallel processing)

  • Strong desire to learn

Salary is just one component of our compensation package and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. 

 

The budgeted salary for this position in the states of Connecticut and New York is $100,000.00.
