The Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology (DEE&T) Growth, Commerce and Identity Client Engineering organization delivers experiences across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Star+ built on a common platform and shared technology. We are fast-paced and fast-growing organization that shares knowledge and code for initiatives throughout Disney! Our mission: Building inclusive user-centered experiences that welcome users, guiding them through a seamless journey from login to sign up, and facilitating effortless account management.

You will serve as a high level technical resource and “go-to” person, solving sophisticated technical challenges and finding opportunities to improve systems, products, and services!

Responsibilities

  • Develop software & infrastructure that powers the DisneyPlus.com and Hulu.com commerce experience including signup, account and subscription management.
  • Contribute to code reviews, knowledge-sharing, and technical investigations.
  • Collaborate with Senior and Lead Engineers to build features on Disney+, Hulu and Star+
  • Partner with UX to transform mock-ups into engaging, accessible web experiences

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience developing large, well-tested JavaScript applications
  • Solid understanding of web technologies and the browser environment
  • Excellent front-end debugging skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • BS degree in computer science or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience shipping a production React/Node.js application
  • Experience with developing applications in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS)
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Working knowledge of web accessibility fundamentals
  • Experience with Typescript
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $114,900 to $154,100 per year and in Santa Monica, CA is $120,300 to $161,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
