StubHub is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Web Foundations team within Consumer App Foundations (CAF). This team builds and maintains the shared web platform that powers StubHub’s consumer experiences across web and mobile.

As a fullstack engineer on Web Foundations, you will work across frontend and backend systems to build reusable services, shared libraries, and platform capabilities that help product teams ship faster and with higher quality. You will contribute directly to core systems that support millions of users, ensuring they are performant, reliable, and easy for other engineers to build on.

This is a strong hands-on role for engineers who enjoy building scalable systems, improving developer experience, and solving real-world problems at marketplace scale.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – New York, NY or Century City, CA
 
About the team: 

Consumer App Foundations (CAF) operates horizontally to provide shared infrastructure, tooling, and standards that power all consumer-facing teams.

The Web Foundations team focuses on:

  • Shared frontend and backend platform services
  • Core web architecture and reusable component libraries
  • APIs and middleware supporting consumer workflows
  • Performance, reliability, and accessibility at scale
  • Enabling experimentation and feature velocity

We work closely with product, design, data, and vertical engineering teams to ensure the foundation supports rapid innovation across StubHub.

What You'll Do:
  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain fullstack features and platform services used by multiple teams
  • Develop reusable frontend components and shared backend APIs
  • Improve performance and reliability across high-traffic consumer systems
  • Contribute to experimentation infrastructure and feature enablement tooling
  • Debug production issues and continuously improve system health
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand platform needs and deliver scalable solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
What You've Done:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in software development 
  • Experience building and shipping fullstack applications using modern frontend frameworks (React, JavaScript/TypeScript) and backend technologies (C#, Java, Python, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of APIs, service communication, and system dependencies
  • Experience working on consumer-facing products at scale
  • Proven ability to own projects from implementation through production support
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, experimentation-driven environments
Nice to have: 
  • Experience contributing to shared component libraries or internal tooling
  • Familiarity with feature flagging or A/B testing frameworks
  • Experience optimizing performance in web applications
  • Exposure to AI-enabled features or experimentation platforms

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
