As a Software Engineer III, Backend you will be joining the Alert Generation & Enrichment engineering team which is part of Dataminr's AI Platform organization. The team builds cutting-edge distributed platforms that enable dynamic and configurable data ingestion, normalization as well as orchestrate real time AI processing for hundreds of millions of messages daily.
In your day to day you will be working on delivering features and toolings written in Java, Scala and Python that further enhance our platform scalability and efficiency as well as support new production use cases. You will also partner with AI research scientists and engineers to bring innovative, applied AI research into production, at a very large scale . This US-based role can be remote or based out of our New York City office.

The opportunity

• Build the next generation AI Orchestration and Alert Generation platform as we strive to process more data and integration more AI model in  real time latency 

• Contribute code to production systems from the get-go.
  Share responsibility for several microservices and design significant features that impact multiple services.

• Collaborate with a multinational team of AI researchers, scientists, product managers, and engineers to deliver innovative tools and products

• 4+ years of experience building back end services and applications

• Experience with Java, Scala, Python and/or other object oriented programming languages

• Experience working with microservices, distributed systems, real time streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, etc) and databases (Postgres, Redis, Aerospike, etc)

• Strong object-oriented design, API design, data modeling, and coding skills

• Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms

• Proven track record of implementing and following strong engineering practices through hands-on coding

• Excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills

The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $165,000. You will also be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus and Company equity. Actual salary will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience.
