Software Engineer, Lens Studio, Level 4

Snap’s Augmented Reality team invents the immersive (and fun!) camera experiences that are at the core of our products. From developing creative new Lens features for Snapchat, to supporting the continuous growth and evolution of Lens Studio (our platform for an ever-increasing community of AR creators), to designing the cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning technology that makes face transformation Lenses possible — our Augmented Reality team is working hard on their mission to bring AR to more people, places, and moments, every day.

We’re looking for an exceptional Software Engineer who embraces agentic workflows and is excited to push the boundaries with AI. 

• Integrate AI-powered creation and productivity features so creators have an “expert” at their fingertips inside Lens Studio

• Build and integrate agentic workflows

• Design and develop features for Snapchat’s AR engine and Lens Studio

• Participate in roadmap planning and creating technical specifications

• Stay current with state-of-the-art multi-agent systems and LLMs to continuously improve our products

• Strong computer science fundamentals

• Strong understanding of AI systems and agentic workflows

• Hands-on with AI dev tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex or similar)

• Great communication skills; ability to work in a team and lead by example

• Pragmatic engineering judgment: ability to balance iteration speed, reliability, and security when integrating agentic tooling

• BS in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience

• 2+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or Master’s degree in a technical field + 1+ year of post-grad software development experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field

• Strong C++ and experience with modern C++

• Experience with multi-agent systems, agent harness engineering, context engineering, or building tool ecosystems for agents

• Familiarity with agent frameworks (LangChain / LangGraph / LangFlow or similar)

• Experience with vector databases / embeddings-based retrieval

• Build systems/tools: CMake, Conan, Jenkins, GitHub Actions (or similar)

• Proficiency in Python / TypeScript

• Experience with a 3D engine like Unity or Unreal

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
