About the Department
Cloudflare's engineering teams build and maintain the systems and products that power our global platform. A global platform which is within approximately 50 milliseconds of about 95% of the Internet connected population, serving on average, over 46 million HTTP requests per second.
About the Team
The Production SLO team builds and operates tooling that provides consistent and reliable data collection, visualization, and alerting for SLOs., visualisation, and alerting for Cloudflare's engineering teams and their services. These tools are essential for helping teams understand how their services perform for customers and are tightly integrated into our automated release processes.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for highly motivated software engineers to join our Production SLO team. You'll have a strong programming background with a deep understanding and experience developing and maintaining distributed systems. You'll need to be able to communicate effectively with engineers across the company to understand the behaviours of our systems and products in order to deliver tooling to meet their service behaviour. You will also work closely with product managers to support our SLO infrastructure for enterprise customers.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience

• Proven track record as a software engineer or similar role.
• Programming experience with one of the following languages. Go or Rust.
• Experience with measuring uptime metrics like availability & latency SLOs/SLIs
• Experience designing, implementing and maintaining secure and highly-available distributed systems
• Ability to develop, document and execute SLO plans to verify systems continue to operate as expected
• Create and maintain SLO documentation, including SLO infrastructure, and availability reporting
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to understand how their systems function and interact with other Cloudflare systems
• Help drive continued improvements in the software development testing processes
• Be a good communicator, provide clear and concise feedback to engineering and product teams

Nice to have skills

• Experience working with Clickhouse, GraphQL, Postgres
• Experience working with data pipelines with a focus on reliability and scale
