THE TEAM

We are looking for a seasoned engineer to build and maintain the system that produces essential reference data that is critical for most systems throughout Virtu: trading systems, quantitative research systems, and back office systems.

THE ROLE

  • Aggregate, validate, enrich, and distribute big datasets from many big data vendors (Bloomberg, LSEG)
  • Build, test, implement, and maintain various databases and API
  • Architect custom software solutions for business stakeholders to improve daily management and evaluation of data across the firm
  • Support large-scale migrations for global, multi-asset data
  • Monitor day-to-day operation of the production system
  • Perform proactive and reactive system maintenance


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 5 years of enterprise-level, distributed systems experience in Java
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL, Oracle RDBMS)
  • Interest in trading and financial markets

DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience working within the financial services industry (exposure to trading systems is a plus)
  • Experience working on large data with Python
  • Knowledge of HBase, Hadoop, or other cloud storage
  • Understanding of Linux environment
  • Experience with SVN or Git


Salary Range: $175,000 - $200,000 (salary range is exclusive of bonuses, benefits or other categories of compensation)
