Company Overview:
Working at GE Aerospace means you are bringing your unique perspective, innovative spirit, drive, and curiosity to a collaborative and diverse team working to advance aerospace for future generations. If you have ideas, we will listen. Join us and see your ideas take flight!
Site Overview:
For over 40 years, GE Aerospace has had a significant presence on the ground in the United Arab Emirates. With offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai Airport Freezone; an On Wing Support Center; partnership engineering, testing, and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facilities across the country; and the Middle East Technology Center focused on solutions for the region’s hot & harsh environment. In addition to career opportunities, our sites offer a culture focused on respect for people and giving back to the community through grants and philanthropic programming.
Role Overview:
At GE Aerospace, our people invent the future of flight — lifting people up and bringing them home safely. We are a world-leading provider of jet engines, components, and integrated systems for commercial and military aircraft. Respect for people is core to our culture and to FLIGHT DECK, our proprietary lean operating model, and we cultivate communities where talented people from all backgrounds are empowered to reach their fullest potential.
At GE Aerospace Technology & Operations, our customers challenge us to tackle some of the world's most complex engineering problems using innovative approaches and new technologies. Our engineers depend on software developers to bridge data, tools, and emerging technologies — like cloud and AI — to unlock new possibilities and shape the future of flight.
As a Software Engineer on this team, you'll move beyond proof of concept: you will own solutions end-to-end, from architecture and design through production deployment and support, delivering real business impact for engineering teams across the company.
We are keen on building scalable, long-lasting solutions — software designed to outlive its first release. That means investing in good design over quick fixes: clean abstractions, simple interfaces, and code that clearly communicates its intent. Working code isn't the finish line; we continually refine our systems so they remain easy to understand, extend, and maintain as they grow, because small design investments today compound into velocity tomorrow.
What You Will Do- Design, build, and ship production-grade solutions — LLM-powered applications, machine learning models, and APIs — that enable engineers to evaluate and adopt data and AI capabilities
- Consult on architecture and deliver solutions for business-strategic projects, including data science and machine learning systems
- Own features end-to-end — design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support — to meet business needs and drive measurable impact
- Build and present product architectures, write high-quality technical code, participate in design and code reviews, and demo applications to stakeholders and senior leaders
- Apply the Innovator Method and lead design thinking workshops to turn customer insights into solutions that deliver real business value
- Apply cloud platforms, databases, data engineering, web technologies, and numerical methods in your work — and stay current with advances in AI, LLMs, and agentic architectures
- Collaborate closely with teammates, share knowledge and use your strengths to support the team, and build cross-functional relationships across the company
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another STEM discipline
- 0–2 years of professional experience in software engineering, data, or AI (internship and co-op experience counts)
- Proficiency in programming and debugging with at least one of the following languages: Python, C++, Go, or Rust
- Experience working with databases and SQL
- Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), or Computer Vision
- Experience building solutions on a public cloud platform such as AWS or Azure
- Strong academic performance
- Experience designing AI solutions and architecting distributed data systems
- Familiarity with LLM application technologies and patterns, such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, prompt engineering, vector databases and embeddings, and LLM evaluation
- Experience building and serving REST APIs (e.g., FastAPI, Flask) and packaging AI capabilities for reuse across teams (e.g., Model Context Protocol / MCP servers)
- Familiarity with MLOps practices, such as experiment tracking (e.g., MLflow), model registries, automated training pipelines, and model monitoring
- Customer-centric mindset with the ability to facilitate design thinking workshops
- Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in software, data, or AI (GE Aerospace internship experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with modern engineering practices: version control (Git), CI/CD, containers, and agile development
- AWS and/or Azure certification (preferred but not required)
Our culture thrives on innovation, diversity, and deep collaboration. You'll contribute as both a learner and a builder, helping us push the design frontier in aerospace.
At GE Aerospace, we have a relentless dedication to the future of safe and more sustainable flight and believe in our talented people to make it happen. Here, you will have the opportunity to work on really cool things with really smart and collaborative people. Together, we will mobilize a new era of growth in aerospace and defense. Where others stop, we accelerate.
