At Tagg Me, we're building a consumer shopping platform that personalizes fashion discovery. Instead of endless scrolling and overwhelming options, Tagg learns your style as you shop and curates a personal storefront with pieces you'll actually want to wear. We bring together 100+ brands (and growing) into one storefront, making it easier to discover and shop online without the chaos of multiple tabs and searches. Our goal is simple: make online shopping effortless, personal, and inspiring.

We've partnered with a consultancy to launch our first version, and now we're seeking a Founding Software Engineer to take ownership of our suite of digital products, help shape the technical roadmap, and scale our platform as we grow.

This is a unique opportunity to join as one of the first technical hires, working directly with the founder. You'll also have the chance to showcase the full scope of your full-stack engineering skills, working across frontend, backend, and sophisticated infrastructure. You'll have significant input into both the technology and the company's future.

What You'll Work On

• Taking ownership of an existing production codebase (React, Node/Express, MongoDB, AWS).
• Building new features across the web frontend, backend APls, and supporting infrastructure.
• Maintaining and improving a Chrome extension and a web-scraping pipeline that powers the Tagg Me experience.
• Leading development of our mobile app and mobile browser extension, bringing the Tagg experience to iOS/Safari.
• Ensuring security, performance, and reliability as the product scales.
• Working closely with the founding team to shape technical decisions, architecture, and product direction.
• Setting up best practices for testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Familiarity with React (web frontend) and Node.js/Express (backend APls).
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (preferably MongoDB).
• Experience working with ML and personalization engines
• Experience maintaining AWS infrastructure (EB, S3, EC2, etc.)
• Comfort working across the stack (frontend, backend, and AWS infrastructure).
• Ability to learn quickly and pick up new technologies as needed.
• Strong communication skills and an interest in working closely with founders in a fast-moving environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

(You can learn some of these on the job if you are not already an expert!)

• Experience with Chrome extensions, Safari Mobile extensions, or browser-based tools.
• Familiarity with web scraping techniques and working with unstructured data.
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and testing frameworks.
• Comfort working with third-party integrations (analytics, marketing, etc.).
• Early-stage startup experience or an interest in building from zero-to-one.
