Sr Accountant

The Senior Accountant ensures compliance with financial transaction recording standards (e.g., general ledger, cash payments/collections, tax transactions, etc.). With minimal oversight, this job reconciles the company's accounts and records (balance sheet, P&L, bank accounts, etc.). The Senior Accountant works closely with business and IT areas on ledger processing, and leads the Accounting team in updating, maintaining, and documenting new accounting guidance that impacts the company.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Support the design, development, maintenance, and day-to-day activities of accounting flows within the FAH system, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions

• Participate in new system integrations and/or corporate initiatives by providing business impact, supporting testing, and validation to ensure accounting requirements are properly reflected in the general ledger

• Research and apply accounting guidance in coordination with Statutory and Management reporting areas

• Lead the setup of accounting configurations in FAH and provides guidance to impacted teams (reconciliation) to facilitate smooth, compliant transitions

• Partner with IT to support the development, enhancement, and testing of accounting system functionality, serving as a key liaison to ensure business and accounting requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions

• Apply technical knowledge to troubleshoot accounting system issues, escalating complex matters as appropriate, while supporting day-to-day operations and project deliverables

• Support areas within Accounting Operations to identify inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions in support of ad hoc requests and data needs as they arise

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage deliverables, enhance workflows, and ensure reporting requirements are met accurately and on time

• Support internal and external audit activities by providing relevant documentation and transaction details

Educational Requirements

Preferred Experience:

• 5+ years of Accounting, Analytical and Financial Statement and/or reconciliation experience preferred
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting
• CPA
• STAT Statutory Accounting Principles
• Experience with MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Tableau & SmartView
• Analytical Thinking; business acumen; project coordination; risk analysis/analytics; Effective Communication skills.
• Relationship management; adaptability; problem solving skills
• Strong Attention to Detail

Anticipated Posting End Date:

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
