Job Overview

We are seeking a Sr. Business Applications Consultant with strong experience in Banking/Asset Management, Security Trade Processing, SWIFT messaging, and Java application development. The ideal candidate will bridge business requirements and technology, create system design documentation, and work closely with Java Full Stack development teams.

Location: NYC, NY 10020
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Candidate Location: NY/NJ preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and document business and system requirements for banking and asset management applications.

  • Provide functional expertise in Security Trade Processing, including DVP (Delivery Versus Payment) and RVP (Receive Versus Payment).

  • Work with SWIFT messaging, particularly MT5xx message types.

  • Understand securities payment and settlement processes within banking/asset management environments.

  • Create detailed system design and functional documentation.

  • Collaborate with Java Full Stack developers and provide guidance on business and technical requirements.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and development teams throughout the application lifecycle.

  • Support application development, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation activities.

  • Ensure clear and accurate documentation of business processes, system requirements, and solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in banking, securities, or asset management environments.

  • Strong understanding of securities settlement and payment processing.

  • Experience working in a Business Analyst / Systems Analyst / Application Consultant capacity.

  • Candidates based in NY/NJ are preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Banking and Asset Management

  • Experience with Security Trade Processing

  • Knowledge of DVP/RVP

  • Strong understanding of SWIFT MT5xx messages

  • Experience with IT Application Development

  • Strong understanding of Java / Java Full Stack applications

  • Business/System Analysis experience

  • Experience creating system design and technical documentation

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Ability to effectively coordinate with Java Full Stack development teams
