NOTE: This role is based in New York City and encourages a minimum of two days per week in the SoHo office. Some roles or teams may require additional in-office attendance if the essential functions of the role require it.

THE OPPORTUNITY                      

                                                    

The Sr. Manager of Finance, Scholastic Technology Services (STS & TDS), will provide financial guidance and support for the various operational teams within these segments, and  will report to the Director of STS/TDS Finance.

The STS & TDS finance team is responsible for managing all facets of the P&L for Technology, Transformation and Digital Services, and the Scholastic Store Online. This team will oversee revenue and expense through our SSO line of business and all expenses associated with the organization’s Commerce, Content Operations, Digital Marketing, Social Media, Product, Design, DNA and Transformation teams. The Sr. Manager of Finance for STS & TDS should thrive on making an impact, thoughtful decision-making, and driving transformation while delivering cross-divisional results.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Managing and reporting on the P&Ls for the STS, TDS, and SSO lines of business

  • Cash flow analysis and maintaining the STS & TDS rolling forecast for reliable and real-time projections.

  • Develop and maintain driver-based models to manage divisional targets.

  • Present recommendations, develop, and implement strategies to meet opportunities and challenges.

  • Support the execution of our One Scholastic initiatives and the association of revenue and expense across the lines of business.

  • Oversee the execution of technology projects running through and supporting the organization.

  • Work closely with the Technology Portfolio Management office to keep technology program budgets on track.

  • Partner with divisional finance and business to establish and track revenue goals associated with the work running through the TDS team.

  • Develop business cases to support work running through the STS and TDS lines of business.

  • Approved travel and entertainment and procurement transactions (PO and Non-PO)

  • Manage and develop STS/TDS Sr. Financial Analyst

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT    (Qualifications) 

  • BBA or BS in Business Administration or Equivalent Experience (Concentration in Finance/Accounting is a Plus)

  • Creativity, leadership skills, and mental agility to solve and propose solutions to complex problems.

  • +5 years of experience in finance/accounting or similar role

  • 2-3 years of management and leadership experience

  • Strong interest or experience working at the intersection of technology, digital services, and corporate transformation.

  • Highly organized and efficient – ability to prioritize work across competing efforts.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills

  • Ability to clearly communicate and present to management at the Director/Manager level.

  • Ability to make decisions independently and collaboratively.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and GSuite (Word/docs, Excel/sheets, Access, Visio, and PowerPoint)

  • A collaborator that will think strategically and effectively when faced with difficult challenges.
