We are seeking a Sr. Project Manager to help smoothly orchestrate projects in our DevOps Engineering space. In this role, you would proactively serve as the liaison with cross-collaborative development teams, advocating for established best practices and deployment patterns that enable quicker release cycles and unlock developer potential. This position on the ArcGIS Online DevOps team will rely on a firm foundation of skills in project management and scrum master principles while focusing on AWS cloud and SaaS projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with many Esri teams to enable customers through the largest GIS SaaS platform, offering real-time GIS, big data analytics, geoanalytics, open data
  • Negotiate scope expectations, prioritize, and track progress for internal and external requests
  • Support software engineers by defining project requirements and DevOps processes to scale effectively
  • Moderate status meetings and facilitate team communication
  • Maintain and structure internal documentation to empower the ArcGIS Online DevOps team and efficiently onboard new members
  • Work with ArcGIS Online component teams to learn their needs and maximize their deployment patterns
  • Become an expert in the mission and operations of ArcGIS Online

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-time experience managing IT or cloud-based projects
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud-based platforms and Software as a Service (SaaS) principles
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, with non-technical and technical peers, project managers, and customers
  • Experience with tools such as: ZenHub, GitHub, GitHub Enterprise, Confluence, or JIRA; and Microsoft's product suite
  • Ability to evaluate and translate goals and objectives into technical plans and solutions
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to solving problems
  • Experience influencing people and processes to achieve requirements
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to occasionally travel
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Information Technology Management or related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Technology Management or related field
  • Understanding of Amazon Web Services' workloads and services
  • Knowledge of principles and practices in software engineering or application development
  • Certification in PMP (project management principles) or CSM (certified scrum master)
  • Experience with agile tools such as Kanban, XP, Crystal, or FDD
  • Experience with FedRAMP and/or HIPAA qualified systems or certification process

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$93,600$156,312 USD
