Role Value Proposition:
The MetLife Global Technology Organization has an opportunity within the Investments Technology department for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to fill a fast-paced, high-impact role that manages and maintains the Investments Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence reporting for both MetLife Investments Management (MIM) and MetLife Insurance Investments (MII) business partners.
Investments IT is looking for a Sr. Full Stack Engineer to be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, based on standards and processes that establish consistency across the enterprise, reduce risk, and promote efficiencies. We are looking for someone skilled with modern technologies, such as Generative AI, Cloud-native applications with high scalability architecture, DevSecOps best practices, etc., who is forward-looking and can help replace legacy software and applications with emerging industry technologies. As an Agile team member, you will collaborate closely with the Scrum Lead, Product Owner, and ART Leadership to ensure your work is meaningful and aligns with business goals and objectives. You will have an opportunity to impact every part of the system, foster and cultivate your curiosity, and iterate over solutions to be the very best you can be to deliver for our customers. The role is expected to have extensive experience in software development and related middleware and infrastructure considerations and will be a critical team member within an Agile Release Train.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the collection and documentation of user requirements.
  • Analyzing, designing, and driving solutions for major components and features.
  • Implementing enterprise-caliber web and backend solutions.
  • Ensuring secure, high code quality across the entire team.
  • Investigating and resolving production incidents, problems, and service requests.
  • Interfacing with key stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Working with cross-functional teams for delivery.
  • Performing design and code reviews ensuring compliance with best practices and acceptable performance metrics.
  • Mentoring Junior Software Engineers.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:

  • 5+ years of software development experience in full-stack software engineering
  • 3+ years of experience and proficiency with database technologies and tools, including MS SQL Server, Integration Services, Analysis Services
  • 3+ years of working experience in Agile teams, maintaining and managing detailed documentation for program Epics, Features, Stories, etc.
  • Ability to build, deliver, and operate complex systems (both on-prem or cloud-native).
  • Git-based repositories such as GitHub, or Azure Repos.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Organize, Motivate, and Lead others outside of the team.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and tooling for CI/CD, release management, and automation using Azure DevOps.


Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree or more advanced degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related field
  • Experience in Data Warehouse concepts and Business Intelligence cubes.
  • Knowledge of designing and building applications that follow object-oriented, service-based, and event-based architectures.
  • Experience with modern web frameworks such as .NET, Node.js, ReactJS, and others.
  • Experience with Veracode and security best practices.

The wage range for applicants for this position is $99,000 to $132,000. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
