Position Title: Sr. Manager Biosolutions Business Development

Location: Westchester Ill. / Bridgewater Nj

Workplace type: Hybrid

Core Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Business Development Manager – Biosolutions to lead growth initiatives in the rapidly evolving biosolutions industry. This role will be responsible for driving market expansion, building strategic relationships, and creating long-term value through partnerships with key players in biotechnology, industrial fermentation, bioplastics, sustainable chemicals, and other biosolutions markets.

  • Conduct deep market analysis to identify trends, emerging technologies, and growth opportunities in the biosolutions space (biochemicals, fermentation, bio-based polymers, etc.).
  • Benchmark against leading players to align with best practices and stay competitive.
  • Translate technical capabilities into clear value propositions for biosolutions applications.
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities with biotechnology firms, industrial partners, and startups.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with R&D, procurement, and business leaders across the value chain.
  • Drive collaboration agreements, joint development programs, and long-term supply contracts.
  • Manage strategic accounts to ensure mutual growth and satisfaction.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to partners, proactively addressing their needs and connecting them with internal resources.
  • Support customers in scaling from pilot to commercial stages by aligning supply, technical expertise, and innovation.
  • Partner with technical, production, and supply chain teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with marketing to refine messaging, positioning, and go-to-market approaches for biosolutions applications.

Qualified candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5–10 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within the biosolutions, industrial biotech, food or chemicals industry.
  • Strong understanding of fermentation processes, bio-based chemicals, and industrial biotechnology value chains is a differential
  • Proven ability to develop new markets, negotiate partnerships, and manage complex customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and stakeholder management skills.

Pay Range:

$149,400.00-$199,200.00 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
