The Senior Manager, Physical Security is responsible for leading all physical security operations at the New York site, ensuring the protection of personnel, facilities, intellectual property, and critical assets. This role drives site security strategy, risk management, compliance, and incident response while aligning with Micron's global security standards and enterprise risk framework.
Responsibilities:
  • Security Leadership & Operations: Lead all site physical security operations, including guard force, access control, and surveillance systems. Serve as primary security advisor to site leadership. Develop and implement site-level security strategy aligned to global standards.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Conduct security risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with Micron security standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable frameworks (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001). Maintain risk and issue register, including escalation and deviation management. Lead audit readiness and remediation activities.
  • Incident Management & Investigations: Lead incident response, investigation, and reporting. Lead all aspects of crisis management planning and execution. Ensure timely communication of significant incidents involving critical issues to regional/global leadership.
  • Protection of Assets & Facilities: Ensure security of facilities, workspaces, and high-value assets. Oversee access management, CCTV, intrusion detection, and monitoring systems. Implement measures for insider threat mitigation and IP protection.
  • Security Technology & Program Development: Drive standardization and optimization of physical security systems. Evaluate and implement new security technologies to improve effectiveness and efficiency. Partner with IT and engineering teams on system integration.
  • Financial & Vendor Management: Manage site security budget, contracts, and resource allocation. Oversee vendor performance (guarding, systems integrators). Establish and track critical metrics to measure service delivery and program efficiency.
  • Leadership Engagement: Partner with Facilities, EHS, HR, Legal, IT, and business leaders. Build and maintain relationships with law enforcement and external partners. Provide executive-level reporting on security posture and risks.
  • People Leadership: Lead and develop site physical security team. Manage performance, workforce planning, and capability development. Promote a strong security culture across the site.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Security, Criminal Justice, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in physical or corporate security
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and vendors
  • Experience managing security operations in corporate, manufacturing, or critical infrastructure environments
  • Strong knowledge of access control, CCTV, and physical security systems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with global security frameworks (ISO/IEC 27001, NIST)
  • Background in law enforcement, military, or intelligence
  • Experience supporting 24/7 operations or semiconductor/manufacturing environments
  • Professional certifications (CPP, PSP, CISSP)

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$119,000.00 - $208,000.00 a year
Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
