MV Digital Group is looking for a Sr. Media Strategist who’s genuinely curious about how things work. Someone who asks the kind of questions that reframe a problem, and who can translate what a client is asking for into what their campaign actually needs.
You’ll lead strategy on tier-1 campaigns, work with clients regularly (mostly digitally, occasionally in person), and play a real role in how our junior planners develop.
You’ll get close partnership, direct feedback, and a manager who’s invested in your craft. We’re looking for someone who brings strong systems thinking, good judgment under ambiguity, and the kind of intellectual range that makes the room smarter.
Compensation for this position is comprised of a base salary plus incentive compensation. The base salary range is $70,000 to $75,000 per year. Additional incentives bring total potential compensation to $84,000 - $94,200.
What you’ll do
- Lead strategy development on tier-1 campaigns from brief through execution, partnering with account, creative, and analytics teams
- Work with clients consultatively: ask the questions that reframe the problem, push back thoughtfully when needed, and guide them toward what the campaign actually needs (not just what the brief asked for)
- Lead client meetings and presentations with a clear point of view, navigating real-time feedback and the occasional contradictory ask
- Develop media plans, decks, and memos with a narrative point of view: clear written work that holds up live in the room
- Run media math, budget reconciliation, and campaign pacing with confidence and a hold on the details
- Lead research efforts: know where to look, move quickly, and pull insights into strategic recommendations
- Mentor junior planners by asking good questions, modeling strong process, and helping them level up
- Stay current on media, culture, and what’s happening in clients’ worlds, and bring perspective rather than summaries
The experience you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years in media planning, including hands-on experience leading tier-1 campaigns. Coaching or mentoring experience is a plus
- Confident with media math, budget reconciliation, and pacing
- A strong track record of media decks and strategic memos written and presented to clients
- Client-facing experience leading meetings, presenting work, pitching media proposals and RFPs, and navigating feedback in the room
- Comfort across digital media platforms with hands-on experience in search, social, and/or DSP a plus
- Experience in political, advocacy, higher ed, or utilities verticals is a plus
- Sharp organizational and analytical instincts, comfortable juggling multiple campaigns on tight timelines without losing the details
