Mysten Labs believes that decentralized and open protocols are the bedrock of the internet of value. This is why at Mysten Labs, we are creating foundational infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of decentralized protocols based on blockchain technologies.

As a Senior or Staff Product Manager for Walrus, you will own the core data platform and its key product surfaces, including Walrus Sites, MemWal, and other products built on top of Walrus. This role sits at the intersection of storage, data delivery, developer platforms, and AI infrastructure, shaping how developers & agents store, serve, govern, and monetize data in production systems.
You’ll be responsible for defining the direction not just of Walrus itself, but also of the ecosystem of products and workflows that depend on it: from developer-facing abstractions and APIs, to hosting, access control, and higher-level use cases such as AI marketplaces, long-term agentic memory, and verifiable data applications. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, GTM & internal product teams, and external partners to turn strong technical foundations into a coherent, reliable platform that scales with real-world usage.
You’ll be working on a platform that sits at the convergence of decentralized infrastructure, agentic systems, and developer platforms, an area where the next generation of applications is being built. This role offers the opportunity to shape both the underlying platform and the first wave of products that demonstrate what it makes possible.
Depending on experience, this role may operate at Senior or Staff level with broader ownership across platform direction and ecosystem strategy.
What you'll do

  • Own and evolve the product strategy and roadmap for Walrus along with its key surfaces, including Walrus Sites and other products built on top of Walrus

  • Partner deeply with engineering to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across storage and data delivery workflows

  • Define and ship developer-facing abstractions and experiences (e.g. Blob Management primitives, APIs, SDKs, CLIs, documentation) that make Walrus easy to adopt

  • Drive product direction for emerging first-party applications built on Walrus (for example AI memory infrastructure such as MemWal), helping translate platform capabilities into compelling real-world products

  • Collaborate closely with the GTM team to evolve the positioning & messaging for the broader ecosystem, especially around AI, data platforms, and developer infrastructure

  • Support internal product teams building on Walrus, and external partners adopting it in production

  • Incorporate partner, ecosystem, and operator feedback into clear product priorities and tradeoffs

What you'll have

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, including ownership of technical platform or infrastructure products used by developers, AI agents, or infrastructure operators

  • Proven ability to own ambiguous problems end-to-end, from problem framing and discovery through execution, launch, and iteration

  • Strong technical fluency and comfort working closely with engineers on APIs, data flows, performance tradeoffs, and system design (without needing to be the architect)

  • Experience leading multi-quarter initiatives across engineering, design, docs, developer relations, and external partners, with clear prioritization and tradeoff decisions

  • Good product judgment, including ability to balance developer or agentic experience, system constraints, scalability, and long-term platform direction

  • Clear, concise communication skills, especially when translating complex technical systems into goals, narratives, and decisions others can align around

If you have it, nice!

  • Experience shaping or scaling ecosystems, not just products (e.g. working with external builders, partners, foundations, or community contributors)

  • Exposure to AI, media, or data monetization use cases (datasets, marketplaces, agentic memory, or gated access models)

  • Familiarity with security, privacy, or data governance concepts in production systems (even if you weren’t the domain expert)

  • Hands-on or product-level involvement with open-source projects

  • Experience working on developer or agent-focused platforms, AI infrastructure, or data platforms at scale

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, which may include verification of employment history, education credentials, criminal history, and other relevant information.
