This role will be responsible for taking aspects of software engineering and applying them to cloud infrastructure and operations solutions powering myQ, an industry leading IoT cloud platform. This role will have demonstrated software development skills, and experience in a cloud environment with both Linux and Windows system expertise. This role will have experience in designing and implementing systems at scale in a highly available global cloud platform and collaborating with globally distributed teams/stakeholders.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and engineer infrastructure environment & platform to solve current challenges, as well as creating future opportunities
  • Provide forward thinking on technology and innovative solutions with a strong emphasis on automating our infrastructure and technology solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Evolve PaaS implementations, working with vendor solutions and cloud services
  • Build effective working relationships with technical staff and subject matter experts to support infrastructure initiatives and roadmap execution
  • Participate in monitoring, troubleshooting and RCA for security and infrastructure events
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Participate in technical discussions with architects, senior engineers, and stakeholders to align on infrastructure solutions
  • Stay current on Infrastructure as a Service best practices, overall TECH/IT strategy, business goals, technology trends, updates, and releases
  • Accountable for accomplishing tasks both independently and collaboratively; provide high quality work in a deadline driven environment
  • Collaborate with security team on architecture design and tools
  • Responsible for complying with the security requirements set forth by the Information Security team and the established ISO 27001 Security Roles, Responsibilities, and Authorities Document found in the ISMS Document Library
  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
  • Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related field
  • An advanced degree in directly applicable area of study may substitute for up to two (2) years of job-related experience
  • 5+ years of infrastructure and operations experience in a technical role, including but not limited to: design, implementation, disaster recovery, network security architecture and engineering
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum is required
  • Experience in software development is required,
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or others
  • Experience with IaC at scale with tools like Terraform and ArgoCD
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with observability tools like Prometheus & Grafana or Datadog and New Relic
  • Experience with Linux, Windows platforms and active directory
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and self-diagnose issues in software development
  • Proficient in Network architecture design and documentation
  • Enjoy working in the technology field and has a good general understanding of how technology works in various areas
  • Good communication skills, self-motivated, and the ability to work cross functionally
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment, effectively and efficiently

Other:

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time domestically

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Relevant certifications in cloud engineering (AWS preferred)
  • MBA or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience in IoT and durable goods industry.
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure at scale.
  • Experience contributing to cloud cost optimization initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of network security, VPC design, firewall management, and secure connectivity

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Security tools and mitigations (SIEM, Edge Firewalls)
  • Strong expertise in Terraform and other IaC frameworks with proven production experience.
  • Proficiency of Kubernetes architecture, deployment, and GitOps automation using Argo CD or equivalent.
  • Strong programming and automation skills in PowerShell, Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.

The pay range for this position is $85,500.00 - $162,975.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
