Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2025 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About the role

As a Sr. Staff Data Analyst, reporting to our Head of Analytics, you will play a critical strategic role in shaping Flex's future by guiding key analytics projects across our Customer Support, Finance, Go-To-Market, Marketing, Product, and Strategy teams. You will champion truth seeking across the business, working to bring clarity to some of Flex’s most challenging and complex areas. Through your technical expertise and mastery of data-led story telling, you improve our understanding of the business and where we can make improvements. The ideal candidate for this role is intensely curious, holds themselves to a high analytical bar, while simultaneously balancing analytical rigor with speed and ultimate business impact.

We currently have multiple roles open across Flex Analytics and are prioritizing analyst support for Product, Growth, and GTM

What you’ll do
  • Improve our understanding of key Flex domains by creating scalable frameworks that connect dots across the business into easily interpretable outputs
  • Proactively and effectively root cause data and performance issues across the business in order to ensure continued strong performance
  • Create and improve dashboards, visualizations, and automations that help us scale analytics across Flex
  • Work to establish clear causal links between actions and outcomes through experimentation and other relevant methods, where applicable
  • Combine data and strategy - being that bridge between what the data is telling us and the implications for strategic priorities within different areas of the business
  • Champion best practices, precise and consistent terminology, and robust documentation within Analytics and more broadly across the organization

Key qualifications
  • PhD, Masters, or Bachelor’s Degree with a quantitative focus (Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.)
  • 8+ years of experience using analytical and statistical methods to support and drive critical business outcomes
  • Expert communicator who can break down complex technical concepts into simple business vernacular
  • Experience across a variety of analytical domains that allow you to bring unique perspectives to solving hard problems
  • Demonstrated success driving business strategy and outcomes from an analytics lens
  • Advanced experience with SQL, business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Mode, Looker, etc.)
  • Experience with ETL processes, especially utilizing dbt and Snowflake
  • Track record of using quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills to drive decisions
  • Biased for action - knows when to not let perfect be the enemy of good enough, while also can effectively highlight the tradeoffs/risks of moving too quickly too soon
  • Strong ownership mindset with a deep natural curiosity to dive into the details and understand how systems work

This role is hybrid with on-site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters (a few blocks from Union Square).

The salary compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
  • For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $194,000-209,000
