We are seeking a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations within our Accounting & Finance team. This role assists with core accounting activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting support, and Workday Financials processes while gaining exposure to budgeting and forecasting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare routine journal entries and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances
- Maintain accurate financial records and support general ledger activities
- Assist with audit requests by compiling documentation and preparing support schedule
- Support budgeting and forecasting data collection and template updates
- Partner with team members to consolidate financial information and monitor spending trends
- Help prepare variance analyses and periodic financial reports
- Utilize Workday Financials for reporting, data entry, and process improvements
- Assist in troubleshooting Workday issues and support enhancements under direction of senior team members
- Participate in Workday training and help educate teammates on basic system functionality
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2+ years of accounting experience (internships or corporate accounting preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and US GAAP
- Experience with budgeting/forecasting processes is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
LOCATION
- NYC, hybrid schedule – 2-3 days in office
COMPENSATION AND PERKS
- $70,000-$85,000 base salary plus bonus. Salary commensurate with knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location
