Position OverviewUnited Health Services (UHS) Chenango Memorial Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) dedicated to protecting, promoting, and optimizing the health and well-being of individuals and families. In this role, you will provide patient-centered care by preventing illness and injury, alleviating suffering, and advocating for your patients through expert diagnosis and treatment. You will uphold all professional standards, including the New York State Nurse Practice Act and UHS policies, while fostering a caring and healing environment.

Intensive Care Unit, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital

Primary Work Shift:

Day Rotational

Compensation Range:

$38.77 - $55.00 per hour, depending on experience

Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment, considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact
  • Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources
  • Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policy
  • Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and services
  • Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies
  • Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices
  • Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completes all mandatory education requirements
  • Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice
  • Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students
  • Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned
Position Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Current NYS RN License or Valid NYS Limited Permit to practice as a GN

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
  • Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
  • Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned
