Staff Nurse (RN)

Position OverviewUnited Health Services (UHS) Chenango Memorial Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) dedicated to protecting, promoting, and optimizing the health and well-being of individuals and families. In this role, you will provide patient-centered care by preventing illness and injury, alleviating suffering, and advocating for your patients through expert diagnosis and treatment. Compensation Range:

$38.77 - $55.00 per hour, depending on experience

Sign-on Incentive:

Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment, considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact
• Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources
• Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policy
• Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization including staffing, time management, supplies, and services
• Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies
• Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices
• Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completes all mandatory education requirements
• Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice
• Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students
• Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

• A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
• Current NYS RN License or Valid NYS Limited Permit to practice as a GN

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
• Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned
