Datadog’s Service Management suite helps DevOps, SRE, and Security teams manage their operations more efficiently by bringing observability data, incident workflows, and automation into one place. Our tools are built for technical users who need to respond quickly to issues, coordinate across teams, and maintain service reliability in complex systems. Increasingly, we’re integrating AI to help teams automate manual steps, highlight relevant context, and reduce time to resolution.

As a Staff Product Designer on this team, you’ll work on the end-to-end experience across tools for service ownership, incident response, and operational workflows. You'll play a key role in shaping how our users interact with AI-powered workflows and automation in high-stakes environments.

This role involves close collaboration with product and engineering leaders to ensure a cohesive, scalable user experience across the platform. We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving complex systems problems, designing for technical depth, and improving the day-to-day experience of engineers.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead initiatives across multiple products within the Service Management suite—including triage, incident response, and remediation workflows.
  • Design AI-first features that help customers streamline incident workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and proactively surface anomalies or risks.
  • Proactively identify areas of opportunity within the Service Management suite to create more integrated and intuitive cross-product experiences.
  • Partner with PM and Engineering to define long-term product vision, align roadmaps, and drive execution of cohesive multi-product user experiences.
  • Reduce ambiguity by producing new research into our multiple personas and drive new product development from your insights.
  • Collaborate with the product designers within the Service Management design team to help them tactically deliver and contribute to your larger initiatives.
  • Support and mentor designers on the team, elevating craft, decision-making, and collaboration practices.
  • Share tools, frameworks, and patterns that improve team efficiency and scale high-quality work.
  • Push the boundaries of what great product design looks like for developer-centric workflows in a fast-moving product ecosystem.
Who You Are:
  • You’re a Staff-level designer with 10+ years of experience crafting complex web-based products.
  • You have a track record of telling compelling stories to advocate for users, build alignment, and articulate design vision.
  • You're comfortable working across deeply technical domains and multi-product ecosystems.
  • You’re a natural collaborator and facilitator, comfortable navigating cross-functional dynamics with senior stakeholders.
  • You’re passionate about AI’s role in transforming workflows—and can translate its potential into usable, practical design.
  • You guide the creation of the new patterns and can evangelize those patterns to scale across an organization.
  • You skillfully balance strategy, research, interaction design, and visual design to achieve effective and elevated design solutions.
  • You’ve led initiatives from 0→1 and are equally strong at scaling and iterating mature products.
  • You artfully give and receive feedback, and seek out ways to improve you and your colleagues' ways of working.
  • You proactively mentor and guide other designers, raising the quality bar for the team.
  • You are deeply fluent in modern design tools like Figma, and continuously exploring how to use AI to boost efficiency and prototyping speed.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience designing for developer tools, service ownership, process automation, or incident response platforms.
  • Strong familiarity with AI/ML patterns and emerging trends.
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS or B2B environments, particularly those supporting technical users.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing

  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our internal panel discussions
