Our technology allows allocators, sponsors, and service providers to digitize the entire onboarding, investment, and reporting process for alternative investments. Through our open-architecture platform, all stakeholders are easily connected to a central venue allowing for collaboration that reduces errors, saving time and money.
Our mission is to give our clients control and reduce friction for a very painful investment process using our platform.
The Role
SUBSCRIBE is a small but growing team – we are looking for a Staff Quality Engineer. You will work closely with Engineering and Product to define quality standards, expand reliable automated coverage across critical workflows, improve CI/CD integration, and establish clear release readiness criteria so we can ship with confidence. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will be expected to contribute directly to automation and tooling early on, while also building the team and operating model that scales. Your daily responsibilities may include:
Requirements
- Lead QA strategy and initiatives for complex product areas, setting quality objectives and best practices.
- Architect and evolve testing processes that balance automated and manual testing, including CI/CD integration and regression suites.
- Lead and mentor QA engineers — fostering a culture of ownership, high quality, and continuous learning.
- Own and improve testing infrastructure and tooling; help adoption of industry standard tools including test management solutions
- Track and report on quality metrics and release readiness, and escalate risks with actionable insights
- Facilitate defect triage and resolution, working hand-in-hand with engineering teams on root-cause analysis.
- Build automated tests, actively filling in gaps in our testing pyramid.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering with increasing responsibility.
- Proven experience leading QA initiatives, mentoring teammates, and influencing quality standards across engineering.
- Strong proficiency with Playwright (or equivalent modern automation frameworks) and deep understanding of test automation design patterns.
- Hands-on with test management solutions and issue tracking tools (Asana, Jira, Linear, etc.).
- Experience performing manual API testing using Postman, Swagger, or equivalent.
- Skilled in both automated and exploratory/manual testing, including web UI, API, and regression testing.
- Comfortable writing scalable, maintainable code for automated tests in languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby, or similar.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on delivering quality in fast-paced environments.
