The Ridgeline Reporting team serves operational reports for customers as well as internal data retrieval requests for internal cross-team usage. As a Reporting team member, you will architect and design large-scale projects with broad impacts across both feature releases and platform enhancements. You will work to build and scale infrastructure, optimize large dataset query performance, and brainstorm creative solutions for internal and external use cases. This year’s roadmap includes both new user features and exciting goals for framework expansion.   

In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge technologies—including AI tools like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT—to boost creativity, streamline workflows, and achieve new levels of software efficiency. As one of our first 500 employees, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of an ambitious tech startup. Our team is dedicated to driving transformative change in the investment management industry by leveraging AI and leading development practices. We are looking for individuals who are eager to contribute to technical design decisions and enjoy having fun along the way!

What will you do?

  • Contribute technical design opinions and fuel decision-making to fast paced, growing team 
  • Partner closely with design, strategy, and engineering teammates and work in a collaborative environment deeply rooted in learning, teaching, and transparency
  • Engage in the entire development process, from requirements and design reviews through implementation and testing
  • Impact a developing tech stack based on AWS back-end services
  • Create automation that leads to scalable, high-quality applications customers will depend on to run their businesses
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire fellow engineers to deliver high performing, secure enterprise applications
  • Think creatively, tackle complex problems, seek innovative solutions, and communicate clearly along the way
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment rooted in learning, teaching, and transparency

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years in a software engineering position with a history of architecting and designing new products and technologies
  • Experience with Kotlin (Java) and/or Python and ideally React
  • Strong proficiency in working with Relational or Analytical databases, with the capability to optimize queries
  • Experience building cloud native applications on AWS/Azure/Google Cloud
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline
  • Willingness to learn about new technologies and develop expertise in a business domain/problem space
  • Understand the value of automated testing at all levels 
  • Ability to focus on short-term deliverables while maintaining a big-picture long term perspective
  • An aptitude for complex problem-solving
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels
  • Serious interest in having fun at work
  • Ability to communicate effectively

Bonus:

  • Buy-side technology experience
  • Experience with GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT
  • Familiar with industry software & data sets: Bloomberg, FactSet, Refinitiv, ICE
  • Familiar with performance concepts and methodologies: TWR, Brinson Attribution, Profit and Loss

Compensation and Benefits 

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

The typical starting salary range for this role is: $165,000 - $200,000. 

The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is: $175,000 - $212,500.

Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.
