About Belfry

At Belfry, we're changing how the $50 billion Security Guard Services industry operates. Our mission is simple but ambitious: to empower both back-office teams and field officers with the tools they need to excel through our state-of-the-art operating system.

We are looking for Software Engineers to help build our products and our culture. The role is ideal for engineers who want the full early-stage startup experience: opportunities to shape our tech stack, garner real product ownership, learn directly from both industry experts and investors, build a team, and earn equity rewards commensurate with your contribution.

What you’ll accomplish

  • Design the architecture of Belfry that will let us scale and support our growing user.

  • Deploy and scale systems using industry best practices to ensure secure, available, and performant software.

  • Drive the technical standards used within Belfry across the full software development lifecycle.

  • Own challenging technical projects, such as:

    • Design and implement push notification architecture.

    • Implementing architectural changes to ensure high availability of our software.

    • Improve the monitoring and telemetry of our product to ensure observability of our software.

    • Review our development practices to improve the efficiency of your fellow engineers!

About you

  • Strong communicator: You can clearly explain your ideas and views on topics from technical decisions to product design.

  • Ownership-focused: You’re excited to be working in an environment where you’ll have a high degree of responsibility for the product and look forward to shaping Belfry as a company.

  • Team-driven: Working to you is a collaborative endeavor; you value growing in your role while helping those around you grow as well.

  • Relevant Skills: You feel comfortable owning complex backend / infrastructure project and have previously done so in prior roles.

  • Technically strong: Typically 10+ years of experience as a software engineer. Familiarity with our tech stack is a plus: React, Python, Typescript, React Native.

  • Always learning: You bring an open mindset to your craft — you're not tied to one language or framework, you pick the right tool for the job, and you're actively exploring how AI coding tools are changing the way software gets built.

Benefits

  • An incredible team with fantastic experience and track record

  • Highly competitive salary

  • Significant equity in a high growth start-up w/ a clear path to significant outcomes

  • Fully covered healthcare, dental, and vision coverage

  • Unlimited PTO (and strong encouragement to use it!) + 11 paid holidays
