Hi, we're The Browser Company 👋 and we're building a better way to use the internet.
Browsers are unique in that they are one of the only pieces of software that you share with your parents as well as your kids. Which makes sense, they're our doorway to the most important things — through them we socialize with loved ones, work on our passion projects, and explore our curiosities. But on their own, they don’t actually do a whole lot, they’re kind of just there. They don’t help us organize our messy lives or make it easier to compose our ideas. We believe that the browser could do so much more — it can empower and support the amazing things we do on the internet. That’s why we’re building one: a browser that can help us grow, create, and stay curious.
To accomplish this lofty task, we’re building a diverse team of people from different backgrounds and experiences. This isn’t optional, it’s crucial to our mission, as we need a wide range of perspectives to challenge our assumptions and shape our browser through a bold, creative lens. With that in mind, we especially encourage women, people of color, and others from historically marginalized groups to apply.

About The Role

The Browser Company is looking for an experienced Writer to join our team. Good writing has always been core to who we are and how we show up in the world. How do you make something elusive or highly technical sound human? How do you make it immediately clear to your audience what they’re reading matters?

As Dia comes to market, we’re looking for the person to define and shape the voice of our company for this next era. You'll collaborate across teams, working with both product and commercial organizations, closely with our CEO, and ultimately owning all the words inside and outside of the app.

Calling all those who appreciate the importance of words and the intentionality behind them.

Responsibilities
  • Evolving Dia’s unique voice: Design and maintain Dia’s distinctive copywriting voice across a variety of channels including: in-app, website, email, social media, educational content

  • Member communications: Lead member updates, release notes, and product education emails — including project management, content design, image generation alongside copywriting

  • Social copywriting: Across long and short form content on key social channels

  • Streamline new features copywriting processes: Establish processes around new features copywriting — from in-app copy, to launch copy, and help center documentation

  • Evolve our Style Guide: Develop and contribute our writing style guide

  • Evolve Talent Brand: Design the narrative and standards for our employer brand across all assets —careers page, Substack, social, events—and elevate how we attract exceptional talent.

  • Maintain deadlines while holding the bar: Operate on a clear content timeline, sharing expectations for both drafts and final deliverables. Build trust with the team by maintaining deadlines at the required content bar.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, and/or copywriting within a fast-paced technology company

  • 3+ years of experience designing and maintaining voice, tone, and content strategy

  • Demonstrated ability to transform complex and technical concepts into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand language — with character!

  • Experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders such as designers, product managers, and user researchers.

  • Ability to adapt quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment with evolving constraints.

  • Ability to share a portfolio containing UX writing and/or content samples.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Our total compensation package for full-time employees includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The annual salary range for this role is $150,000-$220,000 USD. The actual salary offered will vary based on experience level and interview performance.

  • Benefits: We also offer a wide range of perks and benefits designed to support you, your family and to help you engage with your local community. To learn more, visit go.atlassian.com/perksandbenefits.

The Browser Company is an ambitious team of close to 100 people (and growing!) who are passionate about building great products. We are a remote-first, distributed team, with the option to work from office in Brooklyn, New York. We strongly support diversity and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
