The Stars Strategy Principal will directly align to evolving the strategic future of Stars. This individual contributor role is pivotal in shaping and supporting the storytelling of short-, mid-, and long-term strategies that adapt to ongoing changes in the Stars program. The successful candidate will possess executive poise, strong strategy development and management experience, and demonstrated ability with executive-level presentations. Familiarity with Stars is preferred; however, candidates must at minimum be adept at learning complex concepts quickly, understanding enterprise-wide connections, and representing the Stars program from a strategic vantage point.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive short-, mid-, and long-term strategies for Stars at both enterprise and corporate levels, aligned with evolving clinical and regulatory priorities.
- Collaborate closely with regulatory advocacy, performance monitoring, measure execution, and enterprise partner teams to ensure strategies are integrated and actionable.
- Establish, monitor, and manage progress against strategic goals at both the macro and micro level, ensuring accountability and timely achievement of milestones.
- Define, track, and report on success metrics to measure progress and achievement of strategic objectives.
- Provide timely and accurate updates on strategy progress to Health Quality & Stars leadership, corporate and segment strategy teams, Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and Board of Directors, as required.
- Lead development of executive-level Stars program progress—including content development, agenda setting, and performance storytelling—for CEO, ELT, and Board audiences. This includes proactive agenda topic development and strategic guidance for executive presentations, ensuring clarity, alignment, and accountability to deadlines, as well as managing review and feedback processes in collaboration with leadership stakeholders.
- Maintain a birds-eye view of the Stars program, connecting workstreams across measures, programs, and the enterprise, and representing team efforts strategically.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in strategy development and execution in a healthcare or related environment.
- Proven track record in developing executive-level presentations and reporting.
- Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with ability to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences.
- Ability to quickly learn complex content and systems, see the big picture, and identify cross-functional linkages.
- Strong organizational skills, with accountability for meeting deadlines and managing feedback loops.
- Knowledge of Stars program preferred; must have willingness and ability to rapidly acquire subject matter expertise.

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. The Stars Strategy Principal will have high visibility and responsibility for confidential information representing the strategic direction and performance of the Stars program at the highest levels of the organization.
