About the Role 

We are seeking an analytical, collaborative, and growth-oriented Senior Product Manager to join our State Management team within Product Management. This role serves as the primary owner of North Carolina property and casualty product strategy within the high net worth personal lines market, with direct accountability for profitable growth, rate adequacy, and regulatory compliance. 

The Senior Product Manager may have multi-state responsibility and will lead all aspects of North Carolina product and pricing management, including navigating the North Carolina Rate Bureau (NCRB) framework, implementing circulars and filings, managing North Carolina Reinsurance Facility (NCRF) requirements, and executing strategic deviations. This role partners closely with actuarial, underwriting, legal, compliance, and business leaders to deliver competitive, compliant, and market-responsive product solutions. 

 

What you’ll do 

  • Own product strategy and execution for high net worth personal lines products, driving profitable growth and long-term market expansion in assigned states with focus on North Carolina. 

  • Develop and execute state-specific strategies that align PURE’s enterprise objectives with local market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and underwriting performance.  

  • Lead all North Carolina rate and product management activities, including NCRB circular monitoring, rate filings, implementation planning, and ongoing performance evaluation. 

  • Manage and incorporate NCRF requirements into product, pricing, and underwriting strategies in support of company growth and profitability goals. 

  • Design and implement strategic deviations and product enhancements to improve competitiveness while maintaining full regulatory compliance.  

  • Serve as the primary North Carolina subject-matter expert across the organization, providing guidance on regulatory, pricing, and product decisions. 

  • Partner closely with actuarial, underwriting, legal, compliance, claims, sales, and marketing teams to deliver timely, compliant, and market-responsive product changes. 

  • Monitor regulatory developments, market trends, competitor actions, and high net worth customer needs to identify opportunities for innovation and growth. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators and represent the company effectively in regulatory interactions. 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop analysts and product team members (where applicable), and serve as a thought partner to peers across the Product organization. 

What we’re looking for 

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in P&C insurance product management with demonstrated increased responsibilities over time. High net-worth personal lines insurance experience preferred. 

  • Deep knowledge of the P&C industry, carriers and their markets, insurance product pricing, drivers of profitability; comprehensive understanding of insurance regulations. 

  • Demonstrated expertise navigating the North Carolina regulatory environment, including NCRB rate structures, filings, circulars, and NCRF requirements. 

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform data into insights and make sound, data-driven recommendations. 

  • Strong relationship-building, influencing, and communication skills, with comfort engaging senior leadership and cross-functional partners. 

  • High degree of personal organization, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary for this role can range from $120,000 to $135,000 based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience
