Sub-Section Manager - Systems Performance, Operability & Controls
As the System Performance Operability & Controls (S.P.O.C) Sub-Section Manager for the Intergalactic thermal systems team, the candidate will be responsible for leading a team of systems engineers and reliability, maintainability, and supportability engineers that design and develop products and technical solutions. The scope includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components as well as activities to support new business and product opportunities. This candidate will have significant input into the team’s priorities and will make decisions to impact quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the team’s work.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- The SPOC Sub-Section Manager will be the direct leader of the Systems Performance and Operability engineering group as well as the system dynamic controls group supporting TMS products. This leader will serve as the best practice resource for the design process. They will contribute to long-term strategy of the products as well as design process and procedure updates and developments.
In addition, this sub-section manager will:
- Lead a high-performance team of System Performance analysts, dynamic controls engineers as well as to drive execution of NPI commitments and projects to be met on time and budget.
- Lead high level schedule and budget estimating activities related to TMS design projects.
- Resource plan to meet customer and internal deliverables.
- Collaborate with program management teams in development of project expectations and execution.
- Participate as a reviewer in technical and program reviews.
- Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned projects.
- Mentor and give guidance to less experienced engineers
- Have in-depth knowledge of best practices and how the Intergalactic TMS team integrates with others; have working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in design engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field from an accredited College or University
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant systems engineering experience in aerospace or industrial products.
- Minimum of 5 years of people leadership / team leadership experience.

The base pay range for this position is $130,000.00 – 140,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on March 18, 2026.
